The Renanim arrive through the Lost Postern, having followed breadcrumbs left by the Imperians.

The Imperia, unaware that the beings coming through the postern were their own brethren from their home planet, attacked the Renani ship. On board, the first Kol-Renan and first non-Mariner Saint, eleven-year-old Ariel ben Aviel, was overcome by the magic that would eventually become accessible to all Renanim. He drew power from the postern the ship had come through and used it to disable the Imperian weapons, destroying the postern in the process.
