What It Is: Article editing is a line-by-line review of the work, combining both line and copy editing. The goal is to polish prose, correct logical or style inconsistencies, fix spelling, grammar and tense shifts and other inconsistencies. It looks at the flow of the prose and where it can be improved. Excess words are trimmed, paragraphs tightened up and long sentences cut down to size. Article editing will also identify what parts of the article could use expansion, additional content or how to integrate the article more naturally into the rest of your setting. No matter what, the goal is always to maintain the author's particular style and voice. Last of all, since this is the World Anvil we all know and love, this part also includes formatting and structure help to make the article really pop. Ideally, you will come away the process with a better grasp of how to create compelling articles moving forward. What To Expect: The process, in a nutshell. 1. Consulting: A first skim of the article, getting a correct word count, having a chat about your setting and what you are hoping to get out of the article.2. 1st Pass: A line by line read and edit of the article, finished within 1-3 days.
3. Revision 1: Response and additions to any comments or questions. Any added word counts are edited without extra cost (within reason: 25% of the original word count).
4. Revision 2: Clarification, additional response and any finishing touches.
I'm best with fantasy, horror, and similar, weirder settings. I can't offer the same level of detailed feedback when it comes to hard sci-fi where specific numbers or physics calculations are concerned. Pricing:

I've been writing for a long time, but started using World Anvil in 2018 during the Summer Camp of that year. Since then, I've just kept writing and have produced hundreds of thousands of world-building worlds across several different worlds, from fantasy to cyberpunk. From humble beginnings like that, my world of Araea went on to be voted 2nd place on the community's favorite world in 2018.
