Beetle feasting is an essential season among the goblins. It bridges the gap between the Mid-Summer Festivals and Harvest Season. For these two moons of the year, Guano Beetle hunts within the Hoia Forest bring everyone in the home tree together with a party mood. Hunters dare the dangers of the Undertrees Caves while the cooks write their recipes and gather their seasonings. The hunts are measureed by the sack fulls as the cooks boil the beetles in cauldrons of goat milk, oat water, and nut stock to cut the deadliness of the acidic sheen on their caracpaces.   The guano beetle boil is home tree party as everyone takes a turn at stirring the cauldrons. There are Boil-Masters and award-winning Peelers who remove the meat and glands from the now softened and safe to handle beetle shells. Once the peeling is done, the cooking can really begin. The Elden Cook chooses one recipe from all those given by the cooks and that is one all cooks will use for their batch for the Guano Beetle Fricassee Feast.
No one in Gobblyton has had their recipe chosen for the Guano Beetle Fricassee Feast more times than G'anny Bykt. Her recipe has become so famous that cooks from other home trees come to her to learn how to make the very best fricassee. Eventually, one clever goblin wrote down how she makes it.

G'anny Bykt's Cookway

  • FIRSTY: Starts pot of Hot Smashed Devil's Root
  • TWOZY: Use big wide pan over fire. Drop in goat butter and olive squeezings. Mixy 'til melted.
  • THREEZY: Whippy in ground grain. Mixy 'til nice hay-color ooze
  • FOURZY: Throws in all choppy vege'bullies. Cooks and sings first threezy parts of 'Good Gobbly King Fobregz'
  • FIVELZ: Pours in blue boily beetle juice, Dandelion Wine, leafs, choppied thyme twigs, salties and dusty pepper. Cooks and sings two hands more verses of 'Good Gobbly King Fobregz'
  • SIXEEZ: Dumps in beetle meats. Cooks and sings last fivelz parts of 'Good Gobbly King Fobregz'
  • SEVENZEEZ: Serve on Smashed Devil's Root. Offer Salties and Dusty Peppers to tasties.

2 Fists Fat-cut Bat Shrooms
1 Choppied Garlic
4 Mugs Beetle Boil Juice
1 Mug Dandelion Wine
2 Crunchy Bay Leafs
Spat of Dusted Black Pepper
Pinches of Salt, Cook's Choice
2 Twiggies Thyme Choppied Up
Biggie Bowl Boiled Beetle Meats Adjusted for Human Safety
