Most Ancient Town

Long before the days of werewolves when the Darkan Wolves ran wild and free, there were goblins living in Hoia Forest. Being small creatures that could become a light snack for wolves, they took to the trees to be safely out of reach. Not just any tree would do. They preferred the largest and most gnarled trees whose twisted trunks were not desired by human woodsmen.   They carefully hollowed out a tree in such a way for them to get around on the inside while not killing the tree. Up in the tall branches, they built treehouses. Several of these tree filled with twisted little stairways and houses in their branches groing close together formed the first town. This was Gobblyton.   Gobblyton stands at the edge of Hoia Forest in what is now the territory of the East Pack of werewolves. Trade with the werewolves and other monsters the packs allow to travel its paths has enriched the goblins and their town. Riding about all of Transylvania on their mighty messenger bats or hauling trade goods in on their goat carts, the goblins have proven themselves vital to all monster societies.

LEADERSHIP
Gobblyton is governed by a council of seven elders. It is they who decide how things stand in Gobblyton with their decisions backed up by the Brute Squad, goblins who enforce the rules and laws of Gobblyton.
LAWS
Goblins generally do not aprrove or abide by laws but there are a few exceptions.   Their First Law is to never destroy home trees. This a serious offense as their survival in a world of bigger monsters and humans depends upon the trees. Punishment is death.   Their Second Law is to never cripple or kill a messenger bat. The bats are so vital to goblin society that harming or killing them, even in self-defence, is despised. Punishment is death.   Their Third, and last, Law is a deal is a deal until a better one comes along. Breaching a contract or a deal without having made a better one first will bring them shame and ten years of guano duty in the Undertrees Caves. This can be very dangerous as the cave are where the wild messenger bats live and a goblin makes a fine meal if caught.
BRUTE SQUAD
The Brute Squad consists of the burliest and toughest goblins who have embraced the Gobbly Laws. There are seven squads, each commanded by a Council Elder. Seven Brutes made up a squad. Though reknowned for their forcefulness, it is with intimidation tactics and well-paid informants that they carry out most of their duties.
