Sarah Elizabeth Paige Williams

Sarah Elizabeth Paige Williams is a member of Prospero. Once a young, highly skilled, and highly successful field agent, she was on the verge of achieving the rank of Senior Special Agent, prior to her relegation to receptionist duties by order of The Custodian after the failure of Operation: INCLEMENT STRIKE.
When the Advent of the Myths occurred, she and Carl Johnson formed a close bond as they worked together to discover the truth about the event and the forces at play.

Biography

Background

Sarah was born on July 7th 1970 to parents Dale Williams and Paige Williams in Queens, San Fierro. She performed exceptionally well in her education, and was headhunted into an FBI recruitment drive as a result of her educational and physical abilities.
In 1988, at the personal request of The Custodian, she transferred to Prospero to serve as a field agent. She shortly befriended, and became close with, fellow agent Katie Downes.

Career with Prospero

After transferring to Prospero, she was sent on numerous operations involving the retrieval of objects believed to be anomalous in nature as per her assigned speciality. Her skill and experience lead to her being promptly promoted to the rank of Special Agent.

Catching the Serial Killer

In 1989, a case involving multiple peculiar abductions within the Bone County region was being investigated by the FBI. Due to the suspected anomalous nature to the case, it was handed to Prospero as a precaution. Sarah, and fellow agent Jack Hunter, were assigned to the case to investigate.
The investigation progressed well, with their completely juxtaposing operational styles actually serving as a boon instead of a hindrance, leading them to turn up many leads within a short duration of time. They eventually narrowed down their search to one individual, who they tracked to a house in Tierra Robada. As they surveyed the property, they sighted the subject leaving in a red Bobcat, which they pursued covertly all the way to the Mass Grave near El Castillo Del Diablo. The two attempted to apprehend the subject, however he chose to open fire rather than submit to arrest. As such, they were forced to fire on him, with Sarah delivering the final blow.
Following this operation, Sarah and Jack were assigned as official partners, and sometime later entered into a relationship with one another.

Death of Katie Downes

Shortly before OPERATION: INCLEMENT STRIKE, Katie Downes informed Sarah that she was going to attend a meeting with The Custodian. This behaviour was entirely out of place for Katie, and the information was of zero relevance to Sarah, giving her a gut instinct that Katie could be trying to give her a hint covertly. She chose not to act on this instinct, believing herself to be paranoid.
Ultimately, this proved to be a big mistake. Katie never returned from the meeting, and there were no records of any formal meeting taking place. In fact, Katie went missing for several weeks, before suddenly turning up dead on an operation on another continent. Formally the case was closed, but Sarah knew that something wasn't right. This event sparked the flame that would be her distrust towards The Custodian.

OPERATION: INCLEMENT STRIKE

In 1994, Sarah and Jack were assigned to a special operation directly by the The Custodian himself, in lieu of their excellent track records, specialities in both infiltration and retrieving anomalous objects, and the trust he held in both of them. In fact, his trust in Sarah was that great that he had already drawn up the paperwork for her promotion to Senior Special Agent as if they'd already completed the operation. Specially, the operation involved the retrieval of an object in the possession of the Black Hand, suspected to have healing properties, and thus of great interest to The Custodian.
Despite The Custodian's confidence, the operation ended in outright disaster. Not only was Jack killed in action, but also the target object was completely destroyed. Sarah blamed herself on both accounts, and found no support from The Custodian, who likewise blamed her entirely. In his fury, he demoted her all the way down to MAS level, and permanently reassigned her as Prospero Headquarters receptionist.
Sarah became highly depressed in the year following, and even entertained the notion of suicide at some points, only avoiding doing so on some occasions with the help of Emma Walker.

Advent of the Myths

On The Trail

Sarah talks with CJ

Sarah was first brought into the fold when CJ needed help tracking Eve Matthews' movements around The Panopticon. Specifically, CJ needed access to the footage from a nearby security camera, something which Sarah was not only able to do personally, but also actively enjoyed doing. She was able to point him in the direction of Whetstone, and then later on the Shady Creeks Cabin.
After returning to the H.Q. She discussed with him his findings that agents were recovering the remains of myths and transporting them to an unknown location. With access to the base's records, she could see that nothing of this nature was being filed in the system, leaving her to conclude that The Custodian himself had a personal investment in these off-the-books operations, and perhaps providing her with a way to finally take him down. She formed a plan with CJ that they would keep all of this quiet for now and do their own digging, with their next move being to plant a prototype tracking device on the next myth The Custodian had him kill. CJ agreed, and the two continued to act normal.

Confronting The Custodian

After CJ found definitive proof of The Custodian's corruption, he urged her to stay away from Prospero H.Q. and the looming confrontation. Sarah, as ever, did not listen, and greeted him at the doors with half a dozen agents that were on their side. They fought their way through several dozen agents loyal to The Custodian on their way to his office, where they confronted him. Though they tried their best to reason with him, The Custodian was beyond bargaining, and was simply stalling for time for more agents to arrive. The agents flanked the pair from the stairwell, forcing them to respond, and creating a window for The Custodian to escape.
They arrived moments too late to stop him, and to make things worse, Eve Matthews phoned to inform CJ that she'd located the source of the myths. Now caught between their own personal vendetta and the fate of the world, they were forced to split up to pursue both goals at once. Whilst CJ helped Eve, Sarah followed The Custodian's helicopter all the way to it's destination, Satellite Site Omega.

Showdown at Satellite Site Omega

After receiving word from CJ that she myths had been stopped, she gave him the coordinates to Satellite Site Omega. Whilst CJ made his way over, she monitored the perimeter to make sure that The Custodian did not leave.
When CJ arrived, they moved their way through the facility, cautiously sweeping through hallway after hallway. Surprisingly, there was no-one to be found, which was completely at odds with their expectations. Their luck turned when they were confronted by agents Alex Carter and Cody Davis, The Custodian's personal bodyguards. The two duos expressed grave reluctance and dissatisfaction with what was about to happen, owing to their mutual respect of one another's reputations, but saw no other option due to the paths they'd followed. A brutal and length fight then broke out, and in the ensuing battle, Davis was killed and Carter was gravely wounded. Due to the severity of the wound and the remote locale of the facility making calling for help impossible, Carter demanded that they finish him and end his suffering. CJ complied, and shot him in the head.

They then continued further into the facility, where they found The Custodian standing alone in a corridor, staring through a window. At gun point, they confronted him, demanding answers for what he had done. His answers were cryptic, though Sarah was able to understand him after looking through the window for herself, where she saw a young girl in a hospital bed. The Custodian explained that this was his daughter, Kylie, who was 13 years old and suffering from terminal cancer. He'd been searching for a cure for a decade, and after all his failures, she now had only a few weeks left to live. Though she kept it quiet from CJ, this destroyed Sarah emotionally, as The Custodian's reaction to her failure in INCLEMENT STRIKE now suddenly make total sense.
Sympathising with his situation, the two offered him a deal: They leave him be for now; and he spends the remaining time with his daughter before she passes, then turns himself in afterwards. The relationships that the player has with both The Custodian and Sarah affect his reaction to the deal:

Sarah's final moments

If CJ has a low relationship score with the both of them, then The Custodian turned down the deal, believing that he could trust neither of them to actually honour it. He drew his weapon, leading to an intense firefight, during which Sarah was mortally wounded and collapsed to the floor bleeding. CJ was forced to continue fighting in order to get to her, and eventually killed The Custodian with a bullet to the head.
After assessing her wound, CJ tried to assure her that everything would be alright, but she knew he was lying and that she wouldn't make it. They then discussed everything that had happened so far, what could have been between them, and what CJ needs to do next. She then passes away in his arms.

If CJ has a low relationship score with The Custodian, then events unfolded in much the same way, however Sarah survives the confrontation. They then wind down and look over Kylie discussing what has happened, what's next for them, and what they're going to do about Kylie.

If CJ has a high relationship score with the both of them, then The Custodian accepted the deal, agreeing to turn himself in once Kyle passes. With their mission complete, CJ and Sarah leave The Custodian alone.

Aftermath

Sarah and CJ reflect

The aftermath of the events at Satellite Site Omega depends on Sarah's survival:

• If both Sarah and The Custodian died, then CJ journeyed to the Vinewood Cemetery, where he, Emma Walker, and many others paid their respects. He and Emma then discussed what was next for Prospero.
• If The Custodian died, CJ and Sarah were seen at the beach in Bayside Marina. They discussed all that had happened so far, and what was next for Prospero.
• If The Custodian survived, then they are both seen at the beach in Bayside Marina. They discussed all that had happened so far, what was next for Prospero, and what was next for them.
