Biography

Background

Cody Davis was employed by the Central Intelligence Agency in 1967. He quickly proved his skills and capability, and by 1985 he had several hundred successful operations under his belt, many of which deemed 'impossible' by normal standards. Many of these operations were performed alongside his partner Alex Carter. His mission record, combined with his quick thinking, demeanour, and abilities, made him one of the CIA's best agents of the time, if not best ever.   In 1976, Davis met and befriended Johnathon Price, The Custodian.

Transfer to Prospero

In 1985, Davis transferred to Prospero with Carter, at the personal behest of The Custodian, who had just became director of the organisation. The Custodian used the two of them as a team and played them to their strengths, using them to accomplish a multitude of recovery missions considered to be nigh-on impossible. In particular, they were sent to search for objects with suspected healing properties, however they were never successful in retrieving any objects of that kind.

Assassination Attempt upon The Custodian

In 1994, shortly before Operation: INCLEMENT STRIKE, Davis was present during fellow agent Katie Downes' attempted assassination upon The Custodian. When Katie began her attempt, Davis was in The Custodian's office, specifically speaking to him about Kylie Price and that INCLEMENT STRIKE could be the breakthrough he's been looking for. As they talked, Katie came into view, however she was subdued by Carter before she could do anything. The Custodian then interrogated Katie, who was now sitting in front of his desk, whilst Davis and Carter trained their weapons upon her. When the talks came to a close, The Custodian lulled her into a trap by ordering Davis and Carter to lower their weapons, thus enticing Katie to make a move. Katie grabbed a pistol from under The Custodian's desk, and launched into a surprisingly lengthy battle with both Davis and Carter, despite being far outmatched by either one of them individually. She earned herself a shot at The Custodian by disorientating her assailants, however before she could take it, she was executed by Carter with a shot to the head.   Following Katie's assassination attempt, both Davis and Carter were withdrawn from all front-line operations, and assigned permanently as The Custodian's personal bodyguards. Due to this decision, agents Sarah Williams and Jack Hunter were assigned to INCLEMENT STRIKE instead, a decision which The Custodian would soon come to regret.

Advent of the Myths

Davis continued to serve as bodyguard to The Custodian both before and during the Advent of the Myths. He countered agent Carl Johnson numerous times as he met with The Custodian, and the two viewed each other with a certain level of respect, especially on CJ's side.

The Plot Thickens

Davis was present with The Custodian when he attended a business meeting at the Fallen Tree Warehouse. Both he and Carter stood guard whilst The Custodian did his dealings, keeping an eye out for anyone who could cause trouble.

Attack on Prospero Headquarters

When CJ learned of The Custodian's malicious dealings, he returned to Prospero H.Q. to confront him. Unfortunately for him, The Custodian was well aware of his intentions, and thus Davis, Carter, and many other agents were waiting for him and anyone else aiding him, such as Sarah Williams. CJ and Sarah were able to make it to the top floor and get within range of the H.Q., though by doing so they moved right into the cross-hairs of Davis and Carter. The Custodian, however, ordered them to stand down so that he could talk with CJ.   The talks were less than amenable, and during the entire confrontation both Sarah, and Davis and Carter, were more than eager to raise their weapons and continue the fighting. However, the arrival of another batch of agents loyal to The Custodian forced CJ and Sarah to respond, creating a window for The Custodian to escape, albeit with Sarah firing at them. The Custodian ordered not only for them to accompany him to the roof, but also to return suppressive fire only at CJ and Sarah, even though they could have likely killed them if ordered to shoot to kill. Davis and Carter complied, and escaped with The Custodian using a helicopter on the roof.

Showdown at Satellite Site Omega & Death

After the retreat, Davis arrived at Satellite Site Omega along with The Custodian and Carter. He kept guard whilst The Custodian dismissed all medical staff from the facility in anticipation of an imminent attack, and protected him whilst he went to check on his terminally ill daughter, Kylie Price.   CJ and Sarah later arrived as The Custodian anticipated, and so he sent both Davis and Carter to confront them. Though he did not want CJ and Sarah harmed earlier, he was prepared to accept that eventuality now that his back was firmly against the wall. As such, Davis and Carter were given very clear orders to stop CJ and Sarah, no matter the cost. When the two groups met, they expressed mutual dismay at what was about to happen, as they all had respect for each other's records. Though neither group wanted to proceed, they realised they had no choice due to the circumstances that had brought them here.   In the ensuing battle, Davis was the first to fall, and Carter followed shortly afterwards.
