Laurel
This 1.6 mile stretch of auburn brick with several auxiliary side roads connected is where the wealthy of Granmont live. It's esteemed Laurel Street where the estates of the uppermost aristocracy of Granmont stand tall. In addition to the Baron Baudelaire, the Great House Veilleux, House Camus, and House Delvaux have their estates in Laurel, as well as countless lesser nobles and knights.
Each of Domaine Delvaux, Maison Camus, Veilleux Manior, and Seat Baudelaire is a vast estate with main properties, satellite properties, pool houses, sheds, and quarters for the help. In fact despite Laurel's reputation as the noblest district true nobles are outnumbered two-to-one after accounting for maids, butlers, gardeners, chefs, couriers, coachmen, valets, ushers, stewards, and go-fors.
Deep in the rear of Laurel is the multi-hectare estates of the Great Houses. These scale of these properties allows them to have everything that's needed for day-to-day life; kitchens, laundry rooms, gardens, cellars, and of course employees and servants to run it all. Closer to the entrance of Bascule Gate the manorhouses grow more relatively modest. The properties are still sizable and most have at least one detached annex but these residents are often more reliant on trips to Oaktops for shops and services.
The residents of Laurel are incredibly insular, knowing the identities and genealogies of not just their noble neighbors but often servers they keep around. Any outsider is sure to quickly be reported, especially after dark.
