Cheminée
One of the three ancient villages that predate the city proper, Camino is the financial heart of Downtown. Despite its age, the district has been heavily gentrified and features some of the most advances amenities in the city such as sewers and street lights.
Much of the industry of Camino is involved in supporting banking, investing, trade, or legal firms, and most of the city's nouve riche live in Camino's extravagant lodgings.
History and Culture
Camino has been continuously inhabited for centuries, although the structures of the district have been razed and rebuilt numerous times. The current iteration feature impressively tall buildings that tower over the relatively flat southside, beaten in height only by the spires of Carrier. The majority of its population is young urban professionals, bussinessfolk, and merchants from out of town--drawn to Granmont in search of their fortune, with no real ties to the city and little real investment in its long term prosperity. The well-engineered architecture of Camino allows it to have a high population density without sacrificing quality-of-life, but such luxury comes with a cost. Camino's streets are lined with high rise luxury flats that only the wealthy financial workers of the district have a chance of affording. Along the edges of the district where the skyscrapers give way to more modest buildings Camino is hardly differentiable from its less affluent neighbors and these neighborhoods house many of the maids, nannies, coaches, ushers, and valets that serve the ultra-rich of downtown.Geography
Camino lies to the south of Lake Dechue, north of the Black River, west of Confluence River, and east of the Vale Highland. Fortune Hill, the highest point in the district, lies on the eastern side of the district. Rue de Mur runs through Fortune Hill via Pont Passerelle to the east before continue north through Oaktops.
