House Delvaux
The Founder and first Patriarch of House Delvaux is one Alexi, an Elf who married a human woman. The woman eventually passed away, as did their children and grandchildren--all the while, Alexi remained the head of the family.
With the old elf's passing a couple decades back, the next generation is picking up familial operations for the first time. The part-elven descendants currently running the show grew complacent and now that they're in charge they're running the family legacy into the ground. The generation that proudly built the house into what it is today is gone. And any generation that grew up watching this toil and may have earned an appreciation for diligence is also gone.
These new inheritors place comfort over discipline, vice over duty, and their own well being over the Crown.
Custodians of the City
House Delvaux bears the responsibility of the Department of Infrastructure. This includes control of Cervus Cistern and the burden of maintenance of the city's roads. Better disposed towards finer pursuits, Countess Ophelia Delvaux defers responsibility to countless Advocati.Fiscal Speculators
To pad their fortunes, House Delvaux colludes to drive business ventures. With membership in the Guild of Speculators, the house always has tips on the hottest of investment opportunities, and where luck isn't on their side they aren't above throwing their weight around to tip the scales in their favor.Divided Loyalty
Delvaux political position is precarious. They have debts and loyalties to opposing factions of Beaumonts and Labossiers. Without the financial support from the Milieu and the Beaumonts, they would have likely lost Great House status years back. But at the same time, Speculator Guild investments, powered by the uncanny business acument of Yves Labossier fuels their current lifestyle. With entangled alliances to the Mileu, Syndicate, and Crown, its unknown where their loyalty will fall when push comes to shove.
