Labossier Syndicate

Largest of the 'lesser' gangs and owner of the Racetrack. Headed by the Labossier family, the syndicate is the only other gang in the city large enough to be considered a threat by the Beaumont family. Sure, there are lot's of smaller group of punks that think they have game, but the Labossier Syndicate is the only one with the resources to back it up. The track brings in revenue and--more importantly--intel. The Labossier family never misses an opportunity to shake hands with prominent individuals and outwardly are very friendly, even providing betting 'tips' on occasion.   The Syndicate is much smaller, especially in regards to muscle. They don't have nearly as many people as the Beaumont family, with the inner family being about the same size but having fewer non-family employees. They can't win an outright war with the Beaumont's and know it. Instead they rely on their talent at making friends easily to dissuade any hostility towards them as they punch up at the Beaumonts.

Racetrack Bookies

The Racetrack in Vale is the Labossier Syndicate's flagship operation. People from all over the city, rich and poor alike, travel to this Granmont institution to watch the finest horses in the region race. More money trades hands through the wagers on these races than every seedy tavern or back alley card game combined. And the Labossiers get a cut of all of it.   This level of control over Granmont's gambling world has earned them status with the Guild of Bookkeepers, Granmont's only gambling authority. With the Guild eager to retain a positive relationship with the Racetrack its essentially become an Labossier sockpuppet.   Despite all this money isn't the greatest resource the Track brings in. The Labossiers never turn down an opportunity to shake hands. Members of the family are constantly seen acting jovially with the most influential gamblers, even giving betting tips on occasion to earn a little favor. And once the guest is buttered up, they get as much intel from them as they can. The Labossier's ability to stay in-the-know rivals the Beaumonts, despite their comparatively diminutive size.
