Culduff
Since 1113, Culduff has been the home of Crathlia's Drainers. Before that, it was the location of a major colonial training compound for young boys due to its rough terrain and small yet separate and inescapable location. This long, craggy island has long been a place of isolation, where the undesirables of Crathlia are sent to be forgotten by the rest of the citizenry.
Most Crathlians, including myself, will never see Culduff. Hoverplane footage shows that it is a beautiful though rough island. It is considered by many to be a place of mystery and danger.
Culduff is ruled by the Daymarch Clan. Specifically, it is part of the County of Evermach.
Geography
Culduff, loosely translated, means "narrow and black," which describes the island quite well. It is long, narrow, and largely made of black volcanic stone. Though the volcanoes there are currently dormant or extinct, they have left their mark on the land.
The landscape is mountainous and rocky, with steep black cliffs that drop off into the ocean on all sides. It is difficult to get onto the island without flight (or incredible rock-climbing skills and a boat), which made it a prime location for trapping people. It is believed that the aignaoithe were the first to step foot on this island for that reason. Humans did not return until the development of hoverplanes.
Fauna & Flora
The little grassy land on Culduff between the cliffs and the peaks of the volcanoes is fertile and prime for vegetation. Because of its isolation from the rest of the Crathlian islands, unique species of fruit and vegetable developed there. Such plants were brought to the other islands in the 1100s and are now grown on South Lautney, some to be exported to the mainlands.
According to Crathlia's official database on its flora and fauna, Culduff also boasts many unique bird species. They tend to be colorful of feather.
