Personal history

Before the rise of the Nakhasi Empire and after the purging of The Prime, the world experienced a period of relative peace. During this era, amidst the burgeoning kingdoms and the tentative treaties between the various races, lived a Nakhasi man named Mok Kar and his wife, Syla.   Syla was a woman of unparalleled beauty, intelligence, and grace, known throughout the small kingdom she lived in for her spirit, which was tempered with patience and compassion, her humor, and her medicinal gifts - all of which she utilized to care for the sick and dying. Her husband, Mok Kar, was an ambitious member of the kingdom’s council, always eager for power and often advocating for expansion through force. Despite his harsh nature, he loved Syla dearly and longed for a family, a desire that remained unfulfilled as their attempts to have children continually failed.   As Mok Kar grew bitter and more driven to leave a legacy through conquest, Syla found solace in the serene gardens and tea houses of her land. It was in one such place that she encountered Huichi-2, who had been wandering aimlessly since taking mortal form. Huichi-2 was instantly enamored with Syla and they became quick friends. Their bond quickly deepened, blossoming into a secret love affair that would alter the course of history.   One evening, in a moment of profound intimacy, Syla confided in Huichi-2 about her and Mok Kar’s inability to conceive. Seizing the opportunity to gift her beloved something extraordinary, Huichi-2 found the first chance to see what she could do with her divine power and used it to impregnate Syla.   But, naware of Huichi-2's true nature, when Syla discovered her pregnancy, she was filled with both joy and fear - she knew Mok Kar would realize the child was not his, as they had not been intimate for over a year, something Huichi-2 had not been aware of. Huichi-2 then revealed her true identity and explained the divine intervention that led to the conception. Though initially stunned and furious, Syla eventually accepted the truth, and together, they devised a plan. Though sick with the guilt and deception of it, Syla went to bed with Mok Kar so that he would hopefully believe the child she carried was his. He did.   Their son, Mok Tun, was born with extraordinary abilities, demonstrating strength, speed, and intelligence far beyond that of any mortal at a very early age. Mok Kar saw Mok Tun as a divine gift, a sign that his ambitions were justified, and began training him for leadership and war from a very young age. As Mok Tun grew, Mok Kar’s desire for more children led Syla to reluctantly turn to Huichi-2 again. With matching reluctance, Huichi-2 granted her three more children over the course of the next 6 years: Bulan, Eris, and the youngest, a daughter whose original name has been lost to time, who would later split to become the twins, Elpis & Moros.   Mok Kar’s ambitions grew alongside his children. When he once again suggested conquest by force and was rebuffed by the council, he threatened to use Mok Tun to overthrow them. With Mok Tun’s support, Mok Kar declared himself king and began his conquests, laying the foundation for what would become the Nakhasi Empire.   Syla, distressed by the turn of events and fearing for her daughters, sought the help of Huichi-2’s sister, Isoko-2. Isoko-2 took the daughters into hiding, hoping to protect them from Mok Kar’s ambition. Before Syla and Huichi-2 could resolve the situation, Huichi-2 vanished. Unknown to Syla, Huichi-2 had become Huichi-3, having transformed into a Drinker after a conflict with Zun-2.   Left alone, Syla confronted Mok Kar, revealing the true parentage of their children. His rage at this revelation led to a violent confrontation that ended with Syla’s death at Mok Kar’s hands. Mok Tun, witnessing the tragedy, accidentally killed his father in a fit of rage and sorrow.   Devastated by the loss of his mother and filled with a sense of betrayal, Mok Tun denounced Huichi-3 and set out to fulfill his father’s dream of uniting the Nakhasi people. He led them with an iron fist, eventually becoming the first Emperor of the Nakhasi Empire. His reign brought all other kingdoms and races under his dominion, until he eventually grew weary of his own immortality and sought out Bulan to end his life.   In the aftermath, the Nakhasi Empire fell, and the memory of Syla and Mok Kar faded into obscurity, remembered only by their immortal daughters. Thus, the legacy of Syla and her children, born of divine intervention and mortal ambition, continued to shape the history of Alathor long after their passing.
