Origins and Nature
The Prime, also known as the First People, are the original humanoid species on Alathor, emerging from the corruption of The
Mother/Alathor by
The Harbingers. These beings were born with a blend of life essence from The Giver and the destructive influence of The Devourer. They are characterized by their innate magical abilities and a deep connection to the essence of life and corruption simultaneously.
Corruption and Conflict
The Prime were inherently disruptive and destructive, consuming Alathor's resources more than necessary and often engaging in violent conflicts with each other. Their existence posed a significant threat to the balance that The Stewards sought to maintain. The Stewards were divided on how to handle the Prime: Zun-1 advocated for their complete elimination, while others, recognizing the Giver's essence within them, believed they could be influenced or redeemed.
Influence and Transformation
Isoko-1 discovered a small group of Prime that had isolated themselves from the rest. Over generations, she used her powers to imbue their offspring with traits she found beautiful and good, eventually creating a new race called The
Maia. This process demonstrated the potential for transformation and redemption within the Prime, although it also highlighted their deep-seated flaws and the enduring impact of their corrupted nature.
Legacy and Current Status
While the Prime as a distinct race no longer exist in their original form, their legacy persists in the genetic and magical potential within all races of Alathor. The Prime's bloodlines carry stronger connections to magic, making descendants with Prime ancestry uniquely capable of wielding powerful abilities. However, the history of the Prime's corruption and the fear of their potential for destruction continue to influence the world's perception of magic and those who possess it.
The Prime's existence and the subsequent efforts to manage their influence underscore the complex interplay between creation and destruction in Alathor, reflecting the ongoing struggle to maintain balance in a world shaped by both divine and corruptive forces.
