Greada

Greada is one of the first deities. She came into being early during the Dawn of Gerandia, and was involved in creating the world. As one of The Great Dragons, she is also one of the original Principal Deities.   Greada is the Protector of everything that lives, grows or breathes. Originally her love for all things living included some undead, however following Morghalia's actions in the aftermath of Rekfas' Betrayal, she swore to not rest, until Morghalia paid for her transgressions, and every undead in the universe had been destroyed.   She and Darag were lovers prior to his death.

History

Early History
Greada was present for most of, and aided in the creation of the world. She is often credited with creating the first living creatures, and spreading life throughout the universe.   She and Darag spent a lot of time together, as she spread life throughout the universe, with him often either creating planets or star systems, or altering the geopgraphy of existing ones, in order to make them more hospitable.   Following Darag's death, she spent a lot of time on her own in mourning, away from the other dragons and mortals. She returned to become more active as a deity to oppose Morghalia, following her defilement of Darag's body.
Dealings with Mortals
Greada cares about everything that lives, and as such has a fondness of all mortal races, not just on Gerandia but also on other planets throughout the universe. As such she usually splits her attention between all of them, aside from spending time in her sanctum in the Tranquil Fields   Wanting to protect life and destroy undead at all cost, she shares Liora's opinions, when it comes to helping mortals. She will often unsubtly aid anyone batteling undead, pushing the boundaries of what she can get away with. As such she and Liora often cover for each other, when meddling in mortal afairs.   Greada tends to be a lot more subtle, and moderated when acting on the mortal plane, often trying to curb or at least soften Liora's more reckless and chaotic impulses.   She advocated for taking action to save life on Gerandia, when Gealag was headed towards the planet. Frustrated with most the other deities' inaction, she convinced Liora, Vehestra and to some degree Aviro to help her in her efforts to prevent the catastrophe.

Appearance

Dragon
In her natural form Greada is an earth-brown and leaf-green dragon. Her green scales almost look like leaves and grass covering and, growing from the more earthen toned parts of her body. Her wing spikes grow in the form of flowers and vines, while the wing bones almost look like twigs and tree branches, with the skin membrane covered in leaves The scales on her head, are a rich grass green, with some brightly colored, almost floral looking spots. Her horns look like twisted tree branches, growing some leaves towards their tips.
Humanoid
When appearing to mortals in person, rather than in the form of just manifesting her divine presence, Greada takes the shape of a women of any native race. Her ages varies, as she sometimes appears as a young girl, and other times as an old crone. She is always wearing simple, leather clothes, covered in vines, flowers and other plants seemingly growing from the outfit itself, the vines twirling around, and clinging to her arms and legs. She is almost always followed by lots of small forest critters, bugs and birds, with some of them climbing around, or sitting on the plants spread over her body. Each of her footprints will overflow with live, as grass grows, and flowers bloom wherever she stepped, even in the most inhospitable places.

Personality

Greada is calm and collected. She values life about all else and doesn't make a difference between helping a sentient creature, or even the most insignificant forest creature. She understands - and sometimes aids - those that hunt to sustain themselves, as she views this as a necessary part of nature and life, however she strongly dislikes anyone hunting for fun or personal gain, or otherwise exploiting nature. There is a certain underlying sadness and melancholy to her, as she still mourns and misses Darag.   She hates Morghalia and those that follow her with a passion, as well as any and all undead. Aside from that, she get's along well with all of the other dragons, although she has a close relationship with Liora, as the two share a similar mindset on a lot of things.

Temples & Shrines
Tmples to Greada can be found in most large cities. They usually take the from of a well maintained, wild garden that acts as a refuge for all manner of wildlife. Additionally many simple shrines to her can be found across Gerandia, near Roads or even in the middle of the Wilderness. They vary in shape, but are usually build around or into something that grows, like a small grove or an old tree.   Greadas priests and clerics often act as healers, with many of her temples doubling as hospitals. They commonly aid in the delivery of babies, and bless newborns. They also perform ceremonies to ask for a good harvest, or healthy offspring in farm animals.   There is a split in her clergy when it comes to the topic of hunting and meat consumption. While they follow different positions, they usually treat each other respectful, without tensions.   Much of her clergy considers any killing to go against her ideals and tenants. As such they live a pacifist and vegetarian lifestyle. The other portion of her clergy, disagrees, considering hunting, and the consumption of farm animals as a natural part of life, as animals in the wild also hunt and kill to survive. This support however only extends to hunting for food, and using every part of the killed animal. Hunting for trophies or killing animals for fun or discarding large parts of them, is considered a sacrilege.   As such some Hunters will pray to Greada for a successful hunt, and a good portion of her clergy will give their blessing to hunters.   Greada herself has shown support for both sides of this debate, considering the vegetarian approach admirable, and encourages it, but also understanding the necessity of killing or hunting for food, as a part of nature. This support for both sides, is considered an important reason for the respect and cooperation between the two camps.
