Daemor

Daemor is one of the first deities. He came into being early during the Dawn of Gerandia, and was involved in creating the world. As one of The Great Dragons, he is also one of the original Principal Deities.   Daemor embodies the ultimate, and eventual end of anything and everything. A consequence of any existence, is that there is an end to it eventually, and Daemor takes responsibility of ensuring this end. He has no emotional investments, or attachments, only driven by the singular goal of moving the universe towards it's eventual, inevitable end. He is however in no rush, and well aware that the eventual demise requires that, what dies, to have existed in the first place.   He strongly opposes the concept of undeath, as well as resurrections, as both of these go counter to the natural end of things.

History

Early History
While Daemor aided in the creation, most of his efforts were expended in setting up the mechanisms to bring about the universes eventual demise. He is responsible for the creation of the empty, and purely destructive plane Desolaris, as well as the few creatures that can survive in it's barren, endless planes.   There is some speculation that he attempted to bring about the end of the universe prematurely by weakening the seals that hold the Darkness, in the time leading up to Rekfas Betrayal, however there is little to no proof, as only he himself, and Rekfas would know for sure.
Dealings with Mortals
There is not a single recorded instance of Daemor directly interacting with mortals. He prefers to remain at a distance, working towards facilitating the end of all of existence on a grander scale. He does occasionally send his servants onto the material plane to bring about the death, downfall or destruction of anything from a single person, to entire empires. Most often however he does so to remove larger gatherings of, or simply exceptionally powerful undead, as well as that of powerful or significant people that were brought back from death. He does so not out of a concern for the living, but rather out of a cold hatred for those that unnaturally prolong their own existence. His servants don't care about casualties, or anyone or anything caught in the crossfire, indiscriminately destroying anything in the vicinity of their target.

Appearance

Dragon
In his natural form Daemor is an ethereal, dragon formed by an ever moving colourless mist that simply destroys anything in comes into contact with.
Humanoid
As there is not a single documented instance of Daemor ever appearing personally on the mortal plane, there is no knowledge what his humanoid form might be. However artistic depictions often display him as a large cloaked figure holding a scythe or other weapon. Under his hood lies no face, but an endless void, driving anyone mad who were to gaze upon it.

Personality

Daemor is uncaring, cold and calculated. He is driven by a singular goal, and has no regard for anything that doesn't either help or prevent him from furthering this goal. He does not care about divine politics, regular events in the universe, or any worshippers of his, seldom if ever responding to prayers, or even requests by other deities. The only exception to this is Aeondir, for whom Daemor has a certain level of respect, due to the fact that Aeondir is not only aware of the eventual end of the Universe, but has seen it due to his knowledge of the future.

Temples & Shrines
There are no temples build for Daemor, partially because worshipping him is often frowned upon, but more importantly because any of his followers are aware that building something in his name, would be counter to everything he stands for.   There are some localised cults following him, and preaching the end of time, or working to bring on the downfall of the local governments. Some of them operate on a larger scale, and may try to bring down entire empires, but are still usually only a small group of people.   Some singular worshippers of his, also dedicate their life to the pursuit and destruction of undead or people that have been resurrected. They are similarly ruthless and indiscriminate in their methods as his divine servants are.   Regardless, none of the people worshipping him fear death, instead seeing it as an inevitable necessity. Their souls being consumed by Desolaris, or it's inhabitants and removed from existence, is the highest honour imaginable to them. As such they abhor any attempt at resurrection.
