STATIC 25: Downtime Investigations
General Summary
Wherein the Blinkertons make various inquiries
Pursuing Clues
Tridge, Nero Rubicant, Fritz Himmelswander, and Osborn Moonspark found themselves emerging from that strange landscape of pink crystalline dunes to the familiar environment of New Carydam. They're back--but not all of them, for Sharkbait, Skipjack, Corinna Himmelswander, and Hypatia are still unaccounted for, but hopefully safe. There was little time to ponder this, however, as there was investigations to commence. First, a visit to Quill Snap was required in order to deliver his requested Chronicle pages and retrieve the now decoded notebook of Elaugzar Wyrdloom. It turned out that the main thing that could be gleaned from that notebook right now is a kind of recipe for something called "Astral Brownies." Apparently, this is a food item that Auggie maintains can breach planes of existence. It might prove helpful in getting where they need to go, which is wherever the hell that crystal desert is. To make these brownies, our heroes will need Swallows Blossom and Vision Cherries (both available in Swallows), along with Gnetgrist and an Ancestor Mushroom. Those latter ingredients might be harder to source, but the Blinkertons put Messelum on the case, so they're confident of success. Thus, a trip to the Swallows was arranged. It was surprisingly uneventful, with the exception of some manifestation of the Swallows itself emerging and giving them what they required. It seems that this entity is currently mourning the loss of Brackfeem and recognizes the good intentions of our heroes. It is also worth mentioning that during the process of these investigations, our heroes diffused a possible fight between Froggi and Wabash, and also assisted Captain Bantanj of the Orntime in defeating some Windy Wailers. You know, standard Displacement stuff. Back in New Carydam, it was time to follow up on another avenue of inquiry--seeking out the Rocksteadys, a "Science-Gang" of The Reactor, to see if they could identify anything about the strange pink crystals they saw surrounding Auggie. They met Igneous Kog, the leader of the Rocksteadies, in the Purple & Gray, a coffee shop/rock shop that functions as kind of their HQ. He said he would be happy to lend research assistance, but requires a favor first. The Symposium, an important event in The Reactor, is next week and he would like them to compete for the Rocksteadys, as having such seasoned adventurers on the team would surely enable victory and all the honor and prestige that accompanies it. The Blinkertons agreed and set about training for the event.And That's Where We Left It

- Tridge just tried to get her fuckin' bearings, you know?
- Osborn Moonspark sought out Nedara Moonspark. She was glad to see him back, and very curious about the specifics of his adventures.
