Merkaynian Enclave
In the heart of Galfin, where the shadowed past and the fiery present converge, the Merkaynian Enclave stands as a bastion of honor and resilience. Forged from the trials of history and the ashes of fallen heroes, the Enclave embodies the principles of justice and valor set forth by its founder, Merkayne. Once an entity tarnished by the corruption of its own making, the Enclave emerged from the tumultuous shadows of its past to rebuild its honor and forge new paths.
The Enclave's influence extends across various regions, each contributing to its storied legacy. In the Valley Gaulan Plains, their leadership ensures that the vast agricultural lands remain protected from external threats. Amidst the Mountain Firefangs, their mastery of elemental forces and rugged terrain showcases their unyielding spirit. The Marsh Echose Faction, with its deep connection to the Vargen Swamplands, stands vigilant against dark encroachers, while the Desert Caluan Faction's resilience in the arid expanses highlights their survival skills.
The Forest Incantum Faction, with its druidic prowess, guards the mystical heart of the Incantum Forest, maintaining the delicate balance between magic and nature. Their collective actions are not merely defensive; they are a testament to the Enclave's overarching motto: "Do right, no matter in the dark nor light." Each faction, while unique in its methods and regional challenges, shares this core belief, driving their endeavors to protect the innocent and uphold justice, even when such actions bring them into conflict with the broader world.
The Enclave’s presence is both a beacon of hope and a formidable force, its members bound by an unbreakable code of honor and a shared commitment to safeguarding their realms from darkness. In every battle fought and every crisis averted, the Merkaynian Enclave demonstrates that true strength lies not just in power but in the unwavering dedication to righteousness.

First Era (1E)
In the First Era, when the world was still new, people could commit atrocities that only the vengeful hand of mortals could punish. Victims prayed to the gods for something to be done. At that time no celestial beings listened and allowed the world of mortals to be riddled with murder and devastation. It was finally a young infernal who heard the prayers of these less fortunate. Merkayne was the oldest of his 9 demon siblings and stayed away from their putrid ways. He knew they listened to him as the eldest and he wanted to do something no demon had done before. Merkayne chose to vow himself to a code of honour. To answer the call of the people the yellow skinned warrior began a grand construction. Merkayne, now claiming to be the deity of Strength and Honor, built the Pit to serve penance to those who have wronged others. Merykayne is a demon who rose up above his brethren and became a god. He was contested by the celestials but once it became apparent that his honour was infallible, the celestials gave him a chance. Merkayne allowed each of his 9 brothers and sisters to be in charge of one ring of the Pit. He hoped the responsibility would steer them in the right direction. For a while his siblings worked with him towards his goal but they slowly fell to their lesser vices. They fought amongst each other and made deals with the mortals to weaken the laws put in place of what deemed somebody guilty. These demons even took bribes from rich common folk to look the other way when a son of a mighty lord killed his bride or when a tax collector pocketed this month's ransom. Merkayne continued around the world giving boons to the honourable. In this time his siblings became corrupted with power.Second Era (2E)
The inhabitants of Galfin began sending non criminals to the island prison just because someone may have gotten in a person's way to power. The Pit became something lesser than what Merkayne meant it to be. Before word of this sickness spreading through his prison, Merkayne began the construction of a second Pit, somewhere in the Vargen Swamplands . This corruption came to a climax when Vlox killed all but one of the siblings to take full control of the prisoners and the Harrowers inside. Vlox planned to use the undead hunters to impose his will on the world. Since people needed to send their criminals here, Vlox kept his money smart but greedy brother Sparto alive to manage the money. They thought their older brother foolish and unknowing. These two were on their way to becoming gods themselves. Merkayne set out to meet the wise dragon god Synapsid in his resting perch at The Edge within the Firefang Jags. Together the god of strength and honour worked with the God of order and chaos to create the Merkaynian Seal. This locked the prison on what would eventually become Gyaron to a strict code of law. Sparto was not there at the time but Vlox was locked away by the seal in the bottom of the pit. His revenants still followed their God of Corruption and Debauchery but could only hunt those mortals that escaped the confines of the Pit. Each inmate was given the brand that would only activate once the prisoners escaped and were being hunted. Merkayne luckily solved this crisis but realized the prison system was broken. He left it how it was and trusted the Merkaynian Seal to hold the law. He topped construction if his second pit and covered it up with a temporary headquarters for his next idea. Eventually the money brought in was given to the settlers of Pacura after Oceanus colonized the archipelago. Merkayne set out to recruit the honourable people he found through the years to form the Merkaynian Enclave. This was near the end of the Second Era before the Onyx Elves enslaved humans and elves alike for 1000 years. The First Faction - Based in Barakek
Khen’Wai The young brute ogre was banished from his village of Largie when his father was murdered in the blood ogre territory. His father Dwi'Thek was known to all as the Great Uniter. Khen'Wai was born of a blood and blade ogre relationship, this was usually accepted but he was born an albino with yellow skin. This lesser race was dubbed the brute ogres as they were seen as dimwitted and slow. Khen'Wai knew this was simply a stereotype as many Brute ogres he knew were intelligent. Khen'Wai left his village and headed towards the town of Barakek. Here he spoke to Merkayne and was told he needed to be judged as an agent of Order. He was sent to the edge of the Caluan Desert. Here is where the Infernal Merkayne told him to go and speak with the dragon God himself and to be judged by Synapsid. Khen'Wai passed the test and he accepted his role, the young but honourable brute ogre became the first Byycon of the Merkaynian Enclave. Merkayne set out for the new Enclave to do good in the world and help the innocent. The recruited as they travelled. If they followed his guidance into an honourable death, the risen demon would bestow gifts onto their successors.Third Era (3E)
The Enclave has been in many important battles in history. They fought the onyx elves in the long passed dragon wars. A 10 year fight that put the Enclave in direct opposition of the dragon slaying Kingfishers. Because of this, their faction was outlawed by the first 6 kings and queens of Galfin because those 6 also fought with the Kingfishers. Many years passed as the Merkaynians came out of hiding to secretly help and recruit people.Fifth Era (5E)
The Merkaynian Enclave rebuilt and was accepted once again but their honour put them at odds with their allies. The green and yellow army would have played a pivotal role in the Battle of Snowpeak but their leader Arcus Swansong fought against the Mooncrest Marauders and the Church of Dhara in protection of the Frost Elves. This once again led to the faction being looked down upon by the world's governments. Their motto of "Do right, no matter in the dark nor light" means even if it causes you pain and suffering for generations, you must be honourable above all else.
Live Right, No different in the Dark nor Light.
