Dream Fish

Basic Information
Biological Traits
Colour Adaptation
It has been noted that every generation of dream fish is able to take on dull or brilliant colours depending on the quality of the water they live in. Fish taken from a stagnant pond, in their brownish scales, can produce vibrantly colourful spawn.Ecology and Habitats
Murky Waters
Murky or cloudy water affect the perceived brightness for generations to appear more subdued and easier to camouflage.Clear Waters
In clear water, the fish may exhibit a full spectrum of colours including vibrant reds, blues, yellows, oranges and greens that blend better into their sparkling environment.Dietary Needs and Habits
Groups of dream fish have variable food preferences; feeding on aquatic insects, algae, plant fragments, mineral particles and other sources.
Additional Information
Domestication
Domestic strains are selectivity breed for brighter colours, lavisher patterns, ornamented shapes and larger fin sizes than those in the wild.
Uses, Products & Exploitation
Night Lamps
If the vibrance continually produced in successive offspring at some point the descendants will glow in their colours. Appearing as ghostly apparitions wherever they swim in a swarm and banishing the darkness when held aloft. The night lamps are little more than glass bowls containing the brightest guppies; through which hues of pinks, blues and greens shine through for as long as the fish live. They are typically installed along the streets of certain neighbourhoods and are a cheap means for commoners to bring light indoors.Geographic Origin and Distribution
Mountain River
They tend to be abundant in lazy flows, smaller streams and pools than in large, deep, or fast-flowing rivers.Bird's Feet
Guppies have colonize almost every freshwater body accessible to them, especially in the streams near the coastal fringes.Sea
They have some tolerance to brackish environments and groups have acclimated fully to saltwater.Symbiotic and Parasitic organisms
Guppies are vulnerable to a host of parasites that cause white cysts, rot, clamped fins, scratchy scales, rapid gill movement, decreased feeding, lethargy, bloated appearance and abnormal swimming patterns.

I *love* these! It's so cool that their colouration is dependent upon the quality of water they're in :D Thank you for participating in my Unofficial Challenge! Here is the badge's ID: [img:5093419]
I'm thrilled you loved the concept. It was a pleasure participating in your Challenge! I appreciate the badge ID — it's the cherry on top.
