Province of Cassius

The Province for All

Before it was even considered the first province, our caels guided us to this land first. As people’s numbers grew, it was only natural for them to spread out further. The caels helped with this by going ahead and specializing the other regions further for the specific peoples. Ever since Ardentry’s founding, Cassius would forever be known as a foundation for the rest of the Kingdom to thrive. It is the heart of our civilization, to put it simply.

Government

Majesty of the Province

A Monarch rules over the province in the City of Hearth. They have the fullest say of what goes on over the province, overruling any decrees of the governors and mayors. Because the ruler over the region is a monarch, they are typically called on to settle disputes within other provinces should dukes have difficulty in agreements.

Amelia Dundragon is the current ruler over the province. She is descended from the famed Evendur Dundragon.

Magistrate

The magistrate designs the necessary laws and leads over the Civil Guard for the province. Oftentimes they must coordinate with local governors and mayors for what is necessary to legislate.

Governor

A governor is someone who leads over one of the three towns in the region. Governors are appointed by the mayors and must agree unanimously with the queen to have it official.

Mayor

A mayor is someone who oversees one of the many villages within the province. They are appointed by a vote from the locals.

Defences

Auxiliary

Because Cassius is an interior province protected by its outer siblings in the event of an invasion, the need for a military force is debatable. The Civil Guard can handle a majority of the local issues that an army is overqualified for anyways. Both previous monarchs, dukes, and duchesses have compromised with the idea of the Auxiliary. An armed force that would lend additional aid and reinforcements for the other provinces.

The other five provinces have a majority race in their regiments, such as the Province of Kalaura having a majority of avians within its ranks. As a result, a Kalauran army would focus on a lot of aerial attacks. The army in Haliah, with majority of elves, would focus on ranged attacks and precise strikes. As for the Auxiliary, it takes the ideas and methods of all five provinces and tries its best to incorporate them as a result of its varied soldiers.

Civil Guard

The Civil Guard are the bare bone defenses and city watch over the province. They are often the first to be called on to resolve any serious disputes before needing to call on the Auxiliary to resolve things.

Districts

City of Hearth

The City of Hearth is the capital of both the Kingdom of Ardentry and the province. It is considered a home to many. A place where many opportunities are available to be given. Though, there are just as many people there who are keen to take them…

Town of Drumgen

Drumgen is the coastal town of the province. The East Wind Traders make stops between here and further soon to the Province of Dulnmoor and its islands. It's a fairly modest town that people can gloss over until they snoop into its alleys and sewers where shady happenings go down.

Town of Glenhill

Considered the poorest town in the province, there is no doubt about it upon sight. People struggle to live and thrive with the crime troubles that plague the town and its nearby villages. Glenhill is located to the west of the province.

Guilds and Factions

Church of the Reverie

The Reverie have a grand cathedral within the City of Hearth that houses the Pontiff, Cardinal, and other members of the clergy. Caels, at least lesser ones, are commonly sighted around streets close to the cathedral. The heavy presence of the Revered and caels means that they try their hardest to ensure that vician influence is kept to a minimum and that the people are taken care of both physically and spiritually.

Darkway Thieves

A criminal organization that has been difficult for the Civil Guard to remove. Oftentimes these criminals tend toward thefts, property damage, and smuggling are usually the troubles they get into. Rarely do they ever kill anyone as part of their jobs.

Inquisition

The infamous Revered Inquisition has its headquarters not too far from the Reverie’s cathedral. Here, they are akin to the Auxiliary and ensure that inquisitors are sent out throughout the kingdom to ensure vician influence is stomped out.
