Personal history

Caretaker of Constantine

Before Charles and Constantine took their descent into the Necromantic War, Charles watched over the care of his master when he was a teenager. He was stern but fair to the boy despite his constant attempts to sneak out and party with other friends that were also part of wealthy families. The master never obeyed curfews, especially.

Charles never yelled at the young master. The boy was young and wanted to live life before becoming wrinkly and stern like his caretaker.

Descent into Desperation

Because his wealthy friends were moving away into distant places of Florenelle, Constantine was becoming more and more alone with the staff of Croven Castle. Charles had tried his best to be the companion the boy needed but could never understand the boy's lifestyle to connect with him. Master Constantine was growing desperate as he reached into adulthood, hoping to find a cure to this growing isolation. What cemented this panic was the death of Larrina Amastiir, a close and dear friend to him. She was murdered in her home by a jealous ex-lover.

That's when Arkengrath (secretly aided by Mother Maratha's scrying) stepped in. He gave the Master the promise of everlasting life and perhaps to be forever in love.

Charles didn't believe this necromancer. He cautioned the boy about the consequences that could become of this dealing. Constantine didn't want to lose another friend so he coordinated with Arkengrath to find a solution. Vampirism became the result of this. Not only would Charles become infected with it but so would every staff member. He hosted parties just to secretly infect each and every close friend so they would never have to leave him.

Servant for the Vengeful

To this day, Charles is Constantine's closest ally. He has heard countless woes from him and offered what comfort he could. However, throughout this vampiric trial, Constantine has only grown more bitter by Arkonia's enemies who try purging every instance of undeath. Charles willing took up the role to be the sword of whatever his master wishes. Many of his missions involve aiding other monstrous research or finding and killing enemies of Constantine (who so happen to be part of the Coalition quite frequently).

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

Ramsley was first appointed to watch over Victor by the young noble's father. It was a sworn duty, as both the chamberlain and caretaker. Ever since the Arkonian dealings and Constantine coming of age, Ramsley's role turned into servitude rather than maternal ones. He doesn't have much choice regardless since he is under Constantine's vampirism.
