On Higher Beings

The Tor Asterion Pantheon

The Pantheon's Hierarchy

At the counsel of Atlas all gods have equal voice. Beyond this realm each god holds unique power and dominion over their own spheres. Even the gods exist within a hierarchy; roles that define their power and position in relation to one another. They rank themselves as such:

The Disappearance of Solis

Shortly after the True Mother created the world and her children, she vanished. What she left behind was a nearly desolate and barren canvas of a world, which her children would work to fill for the rest of time.

The Court of Illorgo

Facsimile of Purpose

The Court of Illorgo represents Inferno’s answer to the gods of Atlas. As the Tor Asterion Pantheon represents fundamental aspects of the world and society, the Court represents the more intimate aspects of mortal philosophy and sin. Where one god would represent and foster aspects of elements or mountains, a devil is more interested in specific emotions, and so they would rather become the patron of impulsiveness, lethargy, and rage.

Given this, it would only make sense that all devils meddle in the mortal realm. They relish in watching pure unbridled emotions and reactions. Sadly, they enjoy anguish and torment as much as they enjoy watching mortals experience relief and satisfaction. The highest of these devils, known as the archdevils, were the first devils born of mortal hubris and purpose. As they came into power they shaped their kingdoms to their likes and desires, appearing very twisted to mortal eyes.

The Law of Illorgo

While devils take pure delight meddling in mortal affairs, they are bound by their very being to conduct their machinations fairly. Their very fibers prevent them from taking any actions in or against mortals without first procuring a contract. An equal exchange must be made for power or action, which usually costs the mortal's soul. Once signed the contracts are binding on both parties, which must abide as the contract dictates.

Over the millennia, devils have become quite adept at making deals with mortals, where even the most studied scholar could be easily bested by a demon of middling rank.

Archdevils Each of the nine planes of Inferno, are ruled by an archdevil of tremendous power.
The Archdevils

Other Higher Beings

While it is not to describe these beings as any lower than archdevil or celestial wills, or demonic princes, these beings deserve their own classification. While not specifically of the planes of Atlas or Inferno, they have gained enough power to show that they too deserve a spot regarded well above mortals or otherwise.

The Elemental Lords

While in most other cases royal delegation would imply power imbued upon creation, as with the demonic princes or the archdevils. However the elemental lords have very much earned their place and taken the powers of their respective elemental planes for themselves. They have wills and desires very close to mortals, which proves terrifying when dealing with them.
