Highrock
High Rock is the capital of the dwarven country of Torrix, home to the High King built out of the highest mountain. It stands a testament to all that is dwarven engineering, and its innermost halls are so beautiful it is considered a wonder of the world.
Demographics
The demographics of highrock are much like a mountain, with a wide base of peasants and average citizens, with less and less of rank as you climb up the social ladder. Of course, because of the natural wealth of high rock, most of the working class is well off in comparison to the outside villages.
Government
Highrock functions under a traditional Monarchy, where rank and esteem comes from experience and profession of craft.
Infrastructure
Highrock is constructed over a plethora of mines that have remained rich in minerals for the duration of it's lifetime. Quarries surround the outside of the mountain home, hundreds of furnaces make use of the lava running through the deepest depths of it's holds.
Assets
High rock is home to one of the most efficiently militarized defensive holds in the world. In place to defend the plethora of riches owned by the high king and his table of nobles. Stores upon stores filled with gold coins.
History
Ever since dwarves could mine, Highrock was fought over. It's deep seemingly endless mines sparking hundreds of skirmishes and wars. This fighting shaped the mountain into a defensive fortress that fell to constant sieges, until the First High king single-handedly conquered Torrix in ages long past. To establish his dominance, he stationed his capital at Highrock, daring any challengers to root him out, to which all failed. His lineage was so revered, that to this day the Mountain kingdom remains peaceful and without inner quarrels. During his reign, the First High King shaped Highrock into the perfect palace. Conscripting the highest and most noble architects to build his mountain home.
Natural Resources
A high plethora of diamonds, gold, stone, clay, and iron. There are even rumors of a heart adamantine vein.
