Five-Point Authority
The Five-Point Authority was put in place shortly after the fall of the Light and Dark Courts three hundred years ago. It has ruled the Core Lands of Lain-Lethor for centuries, largely improving infrastructure, education, and medical care, as well as implementing a revolutionary transport method between major metropolitan areas.
The Far Lands - those who did not submit easily to the new regime's rule - have experienced increased ostracization and discrimination, with very little (and in some cases, none) of the advancements of the Core Lands. Chief among these is discrimination against those in Kintok, though the Authority paints this as a necessary evil against those who would do them harm.
The Authority consists of five major sectors:
- Lord Alamaeus of Gray The Lord of Gray's motives are unclear, but most of his subjects say he's affable, thoughtful, and highly intelligent. He's also extremely skilled with swords. Alamaeus rules over Borea-Malun, as well as the rest of the Core Lands. His seat of power is in the city of Twin Point.
- Queen Rya, formerly of Kintok Queen Rya's influence and betrayal of her country was essential to Lord Alamaeus' victory over the Light and Dark Courts. As a reward, he granted her control over the country of Collome.
- The Knights Four Aasimar children of powerful gods, the Knights keep order and stability in the kingdoms of the Authority. Each has their own nasty specialty, from crowd control and assassinations, to duels and executions.
- The Bishop A reclusive scientist who lives on the rainy Eyeland, the many-handed Bishop is responsible for most of the Authority's scientific and medical advancements.
- The ROOK The most recent addition to the Authority, the ROOK is an artificial being powered by magic, created to oversee the wild City-States of Tarrah.
