Amalar Geographic Location in Eyila | World Anvil

Amalar

Amalar is the ancestral home of the Vir, and is now also home to humans and the few remaining Qoh.

Geography

Before the Blight, Amalar was a green, fertile land, criss-crossed by rivers. Bountiful forests rested in the west, rolling hills in the east, open plains in the south, and mountains in the north that touched the stars. Venture deep into its heart, though, and it would become clear that this land was not untouched by the centuries of war waged on its soil. Ancient battlefields, soaked in blood, laid barren and were deemed forbidden. Even after the curse, those battlefields remain avoided, the metal-infused skeletons of soldiers littering the ground.   The curse destroyed the forests, devoured the hills and plains, turned the lakes black and inky. In the centuries since then, some of these things have returned, little by little. Fledgling forests have taken root, some with enough tree cover to protect their inhabitants once again. The lakes are nearly clear once more, especially in the center. The grass has grown back, albeit somewhat patchy.   North of the mountains lays the "Savage Land," as referred to by southerners, home to the orcs. In reality, the Ruvir inhabitants of Rustad are far more advanced than their dwarven and elven cousins. In fact, Rustad remains the one place in Eyila untouched by the Blight.
