All beings across the universe can be classed into seven categories denoting how powerful of an entity they are.
Terminology:
- True Immortals: They do not age and can not be killed.
- Immortals: They do not age, but can be killed, sometimes only under unique circumstances.
- Mortals: They age, can be killed and possess a mortal soul.
1 - Primordials:
The Primordials are the oldest and most powerful entities in the Universe, with each of them representing one of the cosmic forces of the universe.
The Primordials are unchanging beings, they are True Immortals and can not pass through the Divine Gate.
2 - Greater Deities:
Greater Deities are divine beings who have an innate control of a divine domain. Both Greater and Lesser Deities grow and fall in power depending on the number of worshippers they have. Greater Deities usually either have a lot of worshippers or control a valuable resource or territory.
Greater Deities are unchanging beings, they are True Immortals and can not pass through the Divine Gate.
3 - Lesser Deities:
Lesser Deities are divine beings who have an innate control of a divine domain. Both Greater and Lesser Deities grow and fall in power depending on the number of worshippers they have. Lesser Deities usually either a small number of worshippers.
Lesser Deities are unchanging beings, they are True Immortals and can not pass through the Divine Gate.
4 - Quasi-Deities:
Quasi-Deities are powerful beings that draw their power from one the Planes of Existence. They are usually found in positions of power and while they have nearly-god like powers they do not have dominion over a divine domain and do not gain power from worship.
Quasi-Deities are unchanging beings, they are Immortals and can be killed. Quasi-Deities have difficulty passing through the Divine Gate on their own but they can be summoned with powerful magic.
Quasi-Deities include the Archangels of Celestia and the Archfey of the Feywild.
5 - Greater Idols:
Greater Idols are powerful beings that are usually found on one of the Planes of Existence. While they are supernaturally strong, Greater Idols do not possess powers comparable to the gods.
Greater Idols are unchanging beings, they are Immortals and can be killed. Greater Idols are also capable of passing through the Divine Gate.
Greater Idols include the Dukes of the Hells and the Krakens of the Elemental Plane of Water.
5 - Lesser Idols:
Lesser Idols are beings that are usually found on one of the Planes of Existence. While they are more powerful than your average mortal, Lesser Idols do not possess powers comparable to the gods.
Lesser Idols are unchanging beings, they are Immortals and can be killed. Lesser Idols are also capable of passing through the Divine Gate.
Lesser Idols include the Fairies of the Feywild and the Imps of the Hells.
6 - Mortals:
Mortals are beings that are usually found on the Material Plane. Mortals uniquely possess souls and unlike the other denizens of the universe mortals possess free will, making them capable of change and growth.
