The Conflict

Prelude

67YBCW Charles 4th and his army were sent home after the great crisis he faced ruin. The young 24 year old emperor (born 87YBCW) say enemies everywhere. He didn't have a wife and so to secure the loyalty of the germinic states he married carla of rovennhof (he would have his first son Charles 58YBCW) but this didn't calm situations. He sent his brother Otto to magara appointing him regent of magara along with his title of arch duke of olgenburg. In szlski the violence prompted him to give them a parliament the sejm and constitution however he retained the title of duke. in the south discontent was brewing. the lord of mortijza jan 1st the emperors 3rd cousin who had fought in the great crisis was outrage. first off his land had been heavy exploited during the war with a 3rd of his own army dying in the field of battle against the Castilian army. he had also been subordinated to lower officer despite his royal decadence and his better experience. the worst however was the fact that Jan's brother count Yeverem was killed 68YBCW in the fighting leading the cavalry of jans force in order to save the rest of his corp from destruction. so he began to believe that he could do a better job and so planned on taking the imperial throne for himself. so gathering his lords around him he secretly planned to take the throne. despite some voices saying they should march on charlesgrad in the bron crownlands, jan planed on marching north gathering his verinaberg allies and then marching to the capital while the empire was in turmoil.

Deployment

By the time the war was about to start Jan had around 15000 men of the mortijzan army. this was arranged into three forces. the main army under jan himself would have 75000 men. his two subordinate commander had armies around 35000 men each. the verianberg lords loyal to him could also call upon around 30000 men.

The Engagement

war begins-The war was brewing. The lord of mortzija jan petroniciv declared himself Emperor of verianberg  (claiming descent through [Gregory Hallsberg) and king of mortijza. He was able to gain support from the new szlski parliament but in secret. The southernmost germinc and verianberg duchies and other provinces who were under the influence of the lorddom joined there cause. at the first battle of the war the emperor Jan (who wore the white of the empire) he and his army drove out a force of 17000 imperial troops from the lands held by the margave of vola-ekss.   battle of shurnaldorf- after learing of jan coronation and the defecation of many nobles the emperor tasked his brother [Otto Hallsberg who was only 21 with taking an army of 120000 men and defeating him. at the town of shurnaldorf just south of the city of flichensdorf  the 21 year old otto and his army where defeated and sent running in all directions    a week after the victroy at shurnaldorf At the battle of marchberg the dug in imperial army  reminant commanded by otto was beaten back by a force led personally by jan. the mortizjan army experienced by the war in Castilian had confidence in their new emperor. They had after all gained more land and manpower. Charles ordered more men called up into the army in order to place a block between jan and the capital.   the march north- after taking the city of flichensdorf Jan continued marching north as his flanks where still secured. on his right wing count Yarovlav antokov (a hero of The great crisis) he stopped a march larger force mostly from bron and the frontier from hitting jan in the flank and had forced it into retreat. Jan continued his march north and seized the imperial estate and then march north toward the imperial capital. at this point the emperor and his genrealknew that only hope was to stop the upstart emperor on his march. the staff decided to take there new army to the city of ternisberg as it was on the main road north and the last major city before the capital. knowing this jan ordered general Milan jalic force of 30000 men to join him on the march taking his numbers to 120000 men and 500 guns.    .the great defeat- marching south to meat jan was a force of some 150000 men and 400 guns under the command of field marshal erich von vall. he was only 34 years old but had already shown the his birth was not the reason for his rapid promotion. th second son of the agian lord von vall he had distinguished himself in the great crisis and in the put down of the szlski constotunalist rebellion. his plan was to place his army south of the city using the wall to his advantage. his put his artillery on the bank of the river giving it amazing cover.  at the city of ternisberg the two armies met.. The ensuing battle saw a bloody melee where cavalry battled for hours on end. jan had struck hard and struck fast. but von vall icy calm allowed him to keep his army in check. in the battle there Where more cannonballs fired in one hour than in single battle only 3 year earlier. By nightfall the margava of vola-ekss broke and jans army was forced into retreat.   the royalist counter attack- jan who had not yet been defeat hoped to march north once again but with his verainberg and germnc supporters retreating to there homes and rapidly disbanding there troops he knew he couldn't hold out for long. however he was determined to not waste him men and so only gave battle when he could win. these small battles saw more casualtes inflected on the loyalists that jans forces but  After a month of retreat jan surrender his crown and his short rain was brought to an end.

Outcome

despite his treachery Jan was spread from death and was not striped of his title as lord of mortijza as chalres knew there would be more rebellion if he did. He was made to bend the knee to the young charles and relinquish their inference over the southern germinc and verainberguer states which were then integrated into their neighbours. Charles then decided to integrate all of the verianbergur duchys and other states directing under one banner of the hallsbergs inside the crownlands. Jan was allowed to keep his title and the lord has become fanatically loyal to the crown ever since fighting for Charles son Charles 5th in the kaff hallsberg war.
