The united tsardoms invasion of the twin sultanates during the great crisis.

The Conflict

Prelude

As The great crisis gathered steam Tsar ivan 8th saw that he could gain territory from the twin sultanates and librante the Briganaies from the sultan. he wanted to invaded when the crisis ended but the tsars army was to small and it would take a year to gather an army large enough to invade.

Deployment

the tsars army of 250000 troops was concentrated on the coast rode. there aim was smash passed the weak coastal defenses.
facing them was around 50000 troops made up of Briganaies millita and raw abrian units.

Battlefield

The eastern boarder between the two nations is long and flat. the largest geographical feature is a lake which is know in tsardom hands.

The Engagement

the campaign begins-the tsar army attacked at the height of summer destroying the sultans forces on the boarder. one of the sultans army's destined for the front with verainberg had to be sent east. the tsars army forced its way west and continued to defeat the sultans army. knowing the tsars army could be forced back in the autumn. mustafa pasha recruited as many people as he could into his army and marched his army to the village of melotov. the previous night had seen heavy rain and artillery and cavalry couldn't been drew up in large numbers. the tsar lead his army personally taking his infantry and captured the village occupying it. They dug in and fortified the village. mustafa pasha ordered his lighter artillery to be transported on the backs of mules. he then ordered his infantry to push the defences turning the tsars offensive battle into a defensive one. These light probing attacks supported by the lighter artillery brought up by the mules turned into full on assaults. men sank as they fought hand to hand into the mud. some even drowned in the thick mud of autumn. the battle ended with both side withdrawing. knowing that his lines of communication were being threatened by Cossack raiders mustafa withdrew to safer positions burning the farms and poisoning the water. this slowed the tsarist troops giving him time to plan a better defence. 
the march south-while this had been happing Duke Constantine 2nd of Estel had gathered and army of 15000 men and had marched them south. knowing a southern attack was coming down the Muzzergad highway a new Muzzergrad command was set up and given to ismali bay. his command had around 10000 men if that to spare. his commands where to hold every fort between the dukes advance and catrench as all forces going west must go through catrench.

war continues-as the winter froze the plain the tsars cavalry could take there advantage and re started the invasion. A the Sultans order of magic unit was assigned to mustafas and he felt that he could able to continue his defensive campaign. after catrench he continued to use the tactic. of defending all the main road and naval arteries. he placed a large amount of troops in the main towns and ports.  the first of these battle of the coastal town of ostadia the tasrs forces were able to surround the garrison of 2000 in the port city. with the support of the navys guns the garrison held. the tsar took personal command of the besieging forces but the garrison still held. the garrison commander Mirliva (major general) Nazım was wounded several times and went to visit the commander of the tsarist army. the tsarist general alexander kurgen offered Nazım the chance to surrender but Nazım wounded from 7 different injures and hungry refused. mustafas army made an attempt to relieve the city. the tsar know well again was able to out wit and out flank his closer opponent and shattered the magic corp. even though mustafa was soundly defeated the garrison were able to escape with the help of the navy. mustafa army saw more defeats until they were able to halt them at the current day boarder. they were held until the end of the crisis.

Outcome

the territory gained in the war by the tsar was massive. the cities of Muzzergrad and Catrench where given to the tsar as well as the entire highway south. half of the Mejdi was given to the tsar. in total close to 1 million citizens where lost to the tsar.
