Ethnis is a universe of innumerable languages. Even ignoring how thousands of years spent in isolation has created hundreds of new dialects on those planets which still harbor civilization, the hub itself is the home of 3 Sophonts, each with their own linguistic history and variants.
Rather than being cataloged on an individual bases languages are considered by their Language Family unless a distinction is necessary. Thus, most Language Families have thousands of dialectic variants. (Some of the Potential) Language Families of Ethnis are: Celtic, Germanic, Slavic, Romance, Indo-Iranian, Ubiquitous, Sazasharanare, Classic Verin, and Modern Verin.
Within each are dialect variations. Romance, for example, encapsulates Italian, French, Portuguese, and so on. Sazasharanare encapsulates variants each for each of the main countries of the Valuselu Pact (Aempian, Kajhtain, Khatoumay). Sometimes these are differences in pronunciation, sometimes they're entirely different words. In Saza in particular the problem is exacerbated because Saza adopts new words easily, and so there's a definite genetic drift that can occur between isolated groups.
