Luddites
Though long removed from their historical origins, the conceit of the modern Luddite is comparable to their original form—that technology and all of its advances bave been made without consideration for the limitations of man and society, and so through technology the greatest thing we are crafting is our own demise.
We do now as we did then, we seek to subvert the grasp of technology and the way it mezmerises the minds of the masses. It's easy to see all the great that technology brings, but it's even easier to forget what hardship it brings as well. Cures which bring more illnesses than they heal, weapons which kill more people than they protect, entertainment and which is vacuous and leaves us empty and unsatisfied.
We must not stand for it.
What's nice about Luddites is that most of them soapbox on a literal soapbox. You don't find many of them online, so you don't really have to listen to their crazy rants.
Luddites are sects within the Edenic population which categorically oppose the speed at which technology and society grows. They believe more importance is placed on advancement rather than true growth, and think that all progression should be handled by committe after deep consideration on how it might effect the population.
In some cases, extreme acts of anti-technology may be carried out in their name.
Extremes
The extreme Luddites believe that technology should never surpass what a single person can handcraft. Some live isolated from society in Amish-style communities or the tribes of their Aboriginal ancestry, but these are a smaller part of the greater whole, who still partake in society and technology, albeit in a limited and considered fashion.
Nothing we can't make by hand, hm? Well, that's easy enough for me.
