Personal history
Kaitlyn was born in Phoenix, formerly-Arizona to Jackson and Renee Walker on August 16th of 2297. She lived there for about six years before her family relocated to Neva, in what was once the eastern tip of Tennessee. It was shortly after they'd moved to Neva that Renee connected with her Elect cohorts in Washington (namely Marielle Thompson ) and Kaitlyn was introduced to Madison Thompson. The two became close friends and kept in touch via snail mail, visiting in-person when they could, and eventually Kaitlyn also met Braedyn Carter and Jeevan Kronus.
Meanwhile, Kaitlyn tried a number of activities—cheerleading, gymnastics, sports, modeling, and acting, among others—but nothing could ever keep her attention for long. Even her Elect assignments, which she'd begun at thirteen, grew stale quickly. By about sixteen, she felt that she'd tried everything open to her and grew restless, so she took what savings she had and went on a year-long road trip, using her Elect skills where necessary to keep "magical" threats under control as she came across them. Her friends joined her when they could, but for the most part she traveled solo. Jeevan was able to spend the most time traveling with her, and the two began dating right around Kaitlyn's seventeenth birthday.
At her mother's request and the request of the Elect leadership, Kaitlyn tried to focus on her Elect duties more seriously over the course of the next year and get back into working with her team, which (at the time) consisted of Braedyn, Jeevan, Juliet Cruze, Jara Lee Bronx, Zachary Goten, Ginger Mendez, and herself. It was during that year that the group were sent on a mission to harness a dragon that was wreaking havoc on The Wildewynne and were unexpectedly set upon by a Shade. Jara Lee was killed in the encounter, which enacted a huge toll on the group. No one was ever quite the same after that.
Madi replaced Jara Lee and was integrated into the group, but Jara Lee's loss was always felt.
When Kaitlyn was nineteen, Alem Johnson arrived at The Scarlet Reaches, claiming to be the immortal magic-user who had first begun the Elect following The Cataclysm. Though she was with Jeevan at the time, the pair broke up over a disagreement shortly after Alem arrived and Kaitlyn immediately began considering the "Reach Master" as a replacement. Alem was on board with the idea, and the two quickly became attached. When Alem disappeared from The Elect, Kaitlyn disappeared with him and none of her friends heard from her again.
It was later discovered that she and Alem had split up at some point and Kaitlyn had returned to Phoenix, where she raised Alem's daughter: Faylin.
Education
She was public-schooled until seventh grade, when she was pulled out to attend to her Elect training. This private education involved physical combat training, studies on magic and magical creatures, and history (among other things).
Employment
When Kaitlyn was thirteen, she officially joined the Elect. Her first assignment with them wasn't until she was fourteen, and it was a simple supply run with her group. As the group aged and matured, they took on steadily more difficult and dangerous jobs.
Kaitlyn also got a handful of modeling and acting gigs between the ages of ten and sixteen, and several odd jobs during her year of travel. After leaving the Elect, she got a long-term modeling job in Phoenix.
