Personal history
Born on November 4th, 2298 to Diana Carter and Jeremiah Smith, Braedyn grew up in the poorer part of Newbridge. Jeremiah left when Braedyn was a baby, after discovering Diana was Elect, and Braedyn was raised by his mother.
Throughout his childhood, Braedyn found plenty of activities to keep him busy. He was an avid reader from a young age, an athlete from the time he was nine, and around the age of eleven he discovered an interest in mechanics. He seemed to have a knack for everything he tried, and Diana suspected he was Potent, but no specific powers ever manifested themselves to confirm her theory.
Braedyn grew up close to neighbor Jeevan Kronus, a child of fellow Elect, and Diana took in Jeevan when his parents disappeared suddenly. At the time, Jeevan was thirteen and Braedyn was twelve. The next year, Diana introduced both boys to the Elect and they were assigned a group to begin training with. This group consisted of Juliet Cruze, Jara Lee Bronx, Zachary Goten, Kaitlyn Walker, and Ginger Mendez, in addition to themselves. The group grew close as they came to know each other's skills, personalities, and powers and headed out on missions together, which grew more intense as they got older.
Another close friend of Braedyn's throughout his childhood, despite the physical distance between them, was Madison Thompson. The Thompsons were good friends of Diana's, and she would take Braedyn (and, later, Jeevan) to Washington to see them on a regular basis. Braedyn learned early on that the Thompsons were also Elect, and he became good friends not only with Madi but also with her younger siblings Isabelle Thompson and Landon Thompson.
When Braedyn was seventeen, he and his group went on a mission to harness a dragon that was wreaking havoc in The Wildewynne and were unexpectedly set upon by a Shade. Jara Lee was killed in the encounter. A huge toll was taken on the group, and no one was ever quite the same after that.
Madi replaced Jara Lee and was integrated into the group, but Jara Lee's loss was always felt.
On May 17th, 2319, at the age of twenty-one, Braedyn married Madi. They had two children: Aleyna and Wyatt.
Braedyn continued to work with the Elect, while also maintaining a garage in Newbridge with seasonal hours and a watch-making side business year-round, until his death.
Education
Braedyn was public-schooled through seventh grade, when he was removed and began private education with the Elect. This private education involved physical combat training, studies on magic and magical creatures, and history (among other things).
In addition to his official schoolwork, Braedyn participated in sports (primarily basketball and football) and taught himself mechanics. He also discovered an interest in astronomy, and he studied a good deal on that topic as well.
Employment
When Braedyn was thirteen, he officially joined the Elect. His first assignment with them wasn't until he was fourteen, and it was a simple supply run with his group. As the group aged and matured, they took on steadily more difficult and dangerous jobs. More than a field agent, though, he was better suited as a mechanic and analyst for the group; a large part of his job was to gather information from around the world and bring it back to the Elect.
Meanwhile, Braedyn opened a garage in Newbridge when he was seventeen and took breaks from his Elect duties in the summer to run his garage. Throughout the year, he also mended and built watches in his spare time, either for repair fees or to sell them outright, and since he was always fiddling with watches that led to a surprisingly steady (if small) income.
Accomplishments & Achievements
When he was sixteen, Braedyn finished a passion project of his: an airship that would not only travel through the air, but also through space, at never-before-seen speeds. He theorized that there were other inhabited planets beyond our galaxy, and he wanted to see if he could find them. He convinced his entire Elect group to travel with him (with the addition of their friend Miranda Lee ). His theory proved correct, and they had quite an adventure in Katar, on the planet of Arken. Failures & Embarrassments
The excursion to Arken nearly cost Jeevan his life--and his sanity--and Braedyn blames himself for that damage. The airship also crash-landed, and Braedyn had to rebuild a significant portion of it without the supplies he'd had back in Concordia.

Motivation
His primary motivation is to protect and take care of those around him. He also loves seeing how things work and learning new things, and a desire for knowledge is another strong drive of his.
