Personal history

Jeevan was born on July 15th, 2297 in Newbridge. His parents were caring, but always slightly distant (eventually, Jeevan would learn this was because they were Elect ). In his early school years, Jeevan experienced a lot of teasing for his unusual name and went through a phase where he tried to go by his much more ordinary middle name instead. His parents, however, convinced him to stand his ground and helped build up his confidence. He carried this confidence on and used it to stand up for his best friend and neighbor Braedyn Carter when he was picked on for his race. As both boys came into their own, however, and Jeevan showed himself to be a caring, brave, and both academically- and athletically-skilled student, those who would have picked on either of them grew afraid to face them and left them alone. Meanwhile, Jeevan accumulated a diverse and close-knit group of friends, including a family-friend of Braedyn's: Madison Thompson and her family, and also the Thompson's family friend Kaitlyn Walker.
When Jeevan was thirteen, his mother was killed in an Elect mission and his father snapped. Thirsty for revenge, Jeevan's father misused his magic and became a Shade. Now without parents, Jeevan was taken in by Braedyn's mother, Diana Carter and the two grew up the brothers they'd always acted like.
The same year, Jeevan and Braedyn began their Elect training and were introduced to their training group: Kaitlyn Walker, Juliet Cruze, Zachary Goten, Jara Lee Bronx, and Ginger Mendez in addition to themselves. The group grew close as they came to know each other's skills, personalities, and powers and headed out on missions together, which grew more intense as they got older.
The boys also stayed in touch with Madi, who began her own training a couple of years later. Jeevan maintained his entire friend group as best he could throughout his training years, despite the long distance between The Scarlet Reaches and Newbridge.
When Kaitlyn and Jeevan were sixteen, Kaitlyn decided to take a year off for traveling. Jeevan joined her for much of her trip and the two grew close. Right around Kaitlyn's seventeenth birthday, the two began dating.
The next year, Jeevan and his group went on a mission to harness a dragon that was wreaking havoc in The Wildewynne and were unexpectedly set upon by a Shade. Jara Lee was killed in the encounter. A huge toll was taken on the group, and no one was ever quite the same after that.
Madi replaced Jara Lee and was integrated into the group, but Jara Lee's loss was always felt.
The same year, Alem Johnson arrived at the Reaches, claiming to be the immortal magic-user who had first begun the Elect after The Cataclysm. After a disagreement with Kaitlyn, Jeevan was forced to break up with her and then watched her immediately get together with Alem. At the same time, Jeevan's father (now under the Shade name of Thanos ) returned to the Reaches to tutor Madi as, apparently, he'd been promised prior to his wife's death and his subsequent descent into madness. Jeevan attempted to reconnect with his father as well as he could, but things ended poorly.
Jeevan continued to work with the Elect for the duration of his long life.

Education

Jeevan was public schooled until eighth grade, at which point he was sent to begin his Elect training. This private education involved physical combat training, studies on magic and magical creatures, and history (among other things).

Employment

When Jeevan was fourteen, he officially joined the Elect. His first assignment with them wasn't until he was fifteen, and it was a simple supply run with his group. As the group aged and matured, they took on steadily more difficult and dangerous jobs.
