Kokoddu
The Kokoddu are plague corpses, victims of the Kodikhet plague. They exist only to spread their disease and die.
Basic Information
Anatomy
The Kokoddu operate similarly to Urkik, with the disease spreading into and operating the muscles directly. Kokoddu doesn't effect the nerves, however, and the victim is alive, at least when it first takes over.
Genetics and Reproduction
Kokoddu produce spores in the saliva and in pus under the fingernails. The disease is spread by biting and scratching, or by contacting spores left behind in a ghost town cleaned out by the disease.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Kokoddu eat living flesh, though they gain little in the way of nutrition.
Biological Cycle
Kokoddu spread their disease until they burn through the population entirely. When there are no more living to infect, they crawl into deep basements or caverns, crowding together. The curse that animates them begins to digest and liquefy their flesh. The pulsing mass of putrefaction and fungus congeals into a single biomass. This biomass extends tendrils out and into the soil, where it creates small towers that spread spores over the town.
Behaviour
Kokkodu exist to spread their disease. They don't think or feel anything but need.
Additional Information
Domestication
There are some foolhardy Necromancers have attempted to study the plague for exploitation, but Allatu is the only known being to have any success.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Kokoddu go blind and deaf, sensing only the energy of the living. They seek these sensations out, to spread the plague.
