Ancalys
Where darkness reigns
Ancalys, also known as the Forbidden Island, the Gray Island and the Obscure Land, is the southernmost island of Eridania, now ruled by the evil organization known as The League of Darkness . It is the only Eridanian territory that is not part of the The Elder Council of the Eridanian Nations.
Geography
The island is a vast territory. Its terrain consists mainly of plains and low hills, but also has a mountain range crossing the island from one end to another. After the invasion of the League, Ancalys's environment gained a darker tone, although the terrain has not been entirely corrupted, as resources are needed to fuel the armies.
It has a large river, the Gray, which begins in the mountains and empties into the sea, which also has some smaller tributaries, responsible for supplying the island with drinking water. The coast of Ancalys ends in high cliffs, and in the place where Tharonyr was built, there is also a natural harbor, which was greatly used by the organization.
The climate in Ancalys is very cold, since the island is very close to the south pole of the planet. Its mountains are always covered by snow on its peaks, and the winters there are very long (though not as long as that of the northernmost kingdoms of Eridania).
Despite being an evil and corrupt place, scholars of the natural beauties consider the island of unmatched beauty within Eridania, although it is a "sick beauty." Its forests of exotic colors, such as the Forest of Blood, animals of non-standard sizes, such as giant bats, among other things caused by the dark magic of Lady Dark.
Fauna & Flora
The island has many unique species, both fauna and flora, as these are usually fruits of the dark magic of Lady Dark. Its forests are dense, and the sunlight rarely crosses the treetops. Many wild creatures inhabit these places, such as wolves, colossal snakes, giant bats and giant spiders, which end up being used for the evil purposes of the League.
