He is married to Lyric; they have a daughter, Ailbhe.
Nolan's mother in law, Allegra, is the Ard Ri of their people and partnered with the Sovereign of Nemel, Cadence the Last. In 001, while he and his wife are incubating their first child, his brother in law, Rhythmus and Sovereign Cadence's son, Prince Cadence Dragon Brother, leave on a quest; they are never heard from again.
His daughter, Ailbhe, is born in 002; Allegra is disappointed that they do not give her a "musical" name- but she was pretty busy with their world fracturing around them. Lyric and Nolan were too taken with how gleamingly, pure white she was (Ailbhe means white).
In the end of 003 Nolan leaves his family to travel south with a small group to find Rhythmus and Cadence; he is kidnapped by the Dark Cult. They imprison him in a Pocket Plane, outside of time, tethering his Spirit to a Simulacrum for centuries in order to use his magic as their own. He remains in stasis until yr 314 (technically making him 342 years old, but really he hasn't aged since his capture at 28).
Going back to his "home" and meeting his fully grown daughter is a shock, to say the least.
