Verglas Ridge

At northernmost reach of Eluziar, Verglas Ridge is a mountain range which separates Eluziar from the Frozen Wastes. A stretch of tundra and taiga stretch between this range and the Burnished Spine. While the Burnished Spine is characterized by Martor's influence, this range is distinctly characterized by ice, the domain of Iska. Much of this region lays under layers of ice, permafrost or is crafted from ice itself. This is an arctic region, only slightly warmer than the Frozen Wastes beyond, which act as the northern cap of Emynea. The two regions resemble each other, Verglas Ridge primarily acting as a barrier between Eluziar and the Frozen Wastes.

Despite what many would assume, this region biologically flourishes. Much like the Frozen Wastes, the plants, animals and people who live here have been blessed by Wylrith to endure and even thrive here. Many plants consist of or coat themselves in ice as a form of protection and, as a result, the lush forests blanketing the mountain range appear as if glazed in glass. Permafrost marshes, glaciers hugged by snow-capped ridges, ice-glazed alpine meadows or plateaus and small patches of frozen desert characterize this region. The ridge is flanked east and west by a different arctic sea as well, the three features marking the end of the Eluzian continent.
