A tribe of the Elves invents the first written language, recording their wisdom on stone tablets. It spreads through cultural osmosis, and is now known as the Fel script.
Basic outline of the events that lead to Bysia becoming what it is.
A catchall term for the events that occurred prior to the First Age. Without societies any more complex than hunter-gatherers, Pre-Civilization is, as its name suggests, not regarded as the first age of civilization.
The many fractured kingdoms ruled by Elves, weary of the constant fighting and worried by more xenophobic foreign sentiments, begin to join one another in alliance. An incredibly slow process which is greatly accelerated by the unification of their rivals under the Appachian Strongholds, resulting in the Bysian Realms.
The longest era of the four, the first age belonged to the early proto-nations that were scattered across Sera. It is widely agreed that it was during this period that the first civilizations arose, discovering agricultural techniques that subsequently skyrocketed their populations.
The dwarves of Bysia unify their holdings under a single banner. The resultant society is the first and largest of its kind for decades after.
A tumultuous time of development, the Second Age resulted in the founding of many of the empires that dominate current history texts. The period is infamous for the rise of the one known as Matok, and the globe-spanning war with the Enemy's brutal empire, the Eclipse.
A pair of inventors in the Appachian Strongholds for the first time, successfully fly an airship.
The Great Enemy leads the Eclipse to war against the rest of Bysia, seeking to conquer the continent under his rule and use its resources and territory as a springboard for the rest of Sera. Matok is defeated, ending the Second Age and opening the Third.
The bulk of the Eclipse's armies are encircled and destroyed in the climactic Battle of Setlan, a great victory for the Alliance in the Great War. This marks the last offensive action of the Great Enemy, and the beginning of the end for Matok.
After the end of the Great War, the victors slowly but surely achieved great prosperity.
Cavorite is successfully synthesized in a Decian lab by Doctor Robert Cavor. The discovery sparks a new flurry of innovation and research, as bulky and flimsy gas cells are no longer the only option for powered flight. Airships begin to resemble contemporary Seran designs.
The first, and only, combat firing of a full-scale magical superweapon. If there was ever any doubt that the sun had set on the Third Age, the Cataclysm was an indelible scar on Sera that could not be denied.
The modern era.
Kuran Empire launches an ocean-spanning invasion effort against the Savoi Nations. This quickly draws the attentions of the rest of the North-West power bloc.
Series of territory skirmishes between the Bysian Realms and the Decian Remnant. Significant loss of life for both sides; however the Remnant successfully acquires a region of Bysia that it quickly begins to colonize and strip of its natural resources.
