Bysia

Bysia is one of the largest continents of Sera, notable for the wide variety of climates that some of the most powerful and developed nations in the world call home. Its history is marred by strife, most notably the attempted rise of the Eclipse in the Great War. Since the end of the prosperous Third Age, tense cold wars and short periods of violent fighting have been a constant. As a result of this constant industrialization and geopolitical tension, the Kingdom of Decia has the dubious honor of being the only place in Sera to develop a weaponized high-energy ritual, and subsequently lose it in a disaster that remains unclear to even the most devoted archaeologists today.
Neither the annihilation of the birthplace of the Alliance, nor the hordes of monstrous abominations pouring out from Decia's borders, were enough to completely snuff out the animosity between the survivors of the apocalyptic event. The Decian Remnant views the self-destruction of the kingdom that exiled its founders as irrefutable evidence that the New Order is the only hope if Bysia is to survive the Fourth Age, fueling its violent ambitions. The elves withdrew further into isolation with the loss of their mightiest ally, the Bysian Realms distancing themselves from even the "enlightened" of Nova Speranza.
To the north, the Appachian Strongholds stand guard in their mountain fortresses and mechanized fleets, on uneasy terms with the tribes that became the Utar Confederacy and the strange creatures that make up Collective One. The dwarves' longtime ally, the Vulkan Republic, remorselessly commits everything its brand of realpolitik deems necessary to preserve the Republic, whether that be sophisticated efforts at historical negationism, bloody wetwork, or the liberal application of a massive standing army to the many potential threats.
Ironically, it is this eagerness to provide military aid that has preserved the Savoi Nations, a collection of islands that have held back the battle groups of the Kuran Empire in a long-running war that has borne some of the most advanced airship designs to grace Sera's skies. Perhaps it is a mercy that the Kuran Empire will never reach mainland Bysia, because its inability to break through the Savoi airfleets and island fortifications, backed with a fraction of Republic war materiel does not bode well for an encounter with a larger force.
