Military action

The Great Enemy leads the Eclipse to war against the rest of Bysia, seeking to conquer the continent under his rule and use its resources and territory as a springboard for the rest of Sera. Matok is defeated, ending the Second Age and opening the Third.

Prior to the beginning of the war, Matok had already shown extremely aggressive, expansionist intentions, but had always been expected to collapse from internal unrest sooner or later. Beginning the Great War with crippling blows to its neighboring states, the Eclipse fully became an extension of Matok's will, seeking to bring eternal peace and unity to a chaotic world through whatever means necessary. The rapidly growing armies of the empire, well-equipped with some of the earliest non-dwarven examples of gunpowder weaponry and better disciplined than the weak and disorganized defenders of the Eclipse's neighbors. Resistance from these border kingdoms were quickly crushed and their resources subsumed by the expanding war effort.
