The UFH Civil War

Introduction:

The UFH civil war was a large conflict 6,330 years ago between the United Federation of Humanity and a rebelling faction. The war lasted seven years and ended in a victory for the UFH, with the rebels retreating and escaping the Founder Galaxy though the Galactic Slingshot, an ancient device thought to be defunct.

Participants:

The Rebellion Power (Aggressors):

-The Rebellion Against Unjust Authority   Casualties: 6,685 dead, 18,484 injured

The Allied Powers (Defenders):

-United Federation of Humanity   -Ares   -Illithid-Dilug Intergalactic Empire of New Rocheron (7 years into the conflict)   Casualties: 1,484 dead, 2,585 injured

The Beginning:

The first sparks of conflict emerged after the Illithid-Dilug Intergalactic Empire of New Rocheron made a controversial deal with the UFH: the Empire would help protect the UFH from any hostile threats, as long as the UFH would begin to trade valuable resources and consider the Empire their ally. This decision split the UFH in two politically: one half supported the deal and wanted to continue cooperating with the Empire, while the other half wanted to remain more independent and contact the Empire as little as possible. Protests and riots followed the decision for months, until a rebel faction on Dagarus performed a terrorist attack. They detonated a bomb inside of the imperial embassy, killing 127 people. This immediately lead to the federal army mobilizing and attempting to quell the terrorists. Unfortunately for the UFH, the terrorists were prepared and hid out in an abandoned military base. They publicly broadcasted a speech requesting all citizens that hated the Empire to join their cause. Thousands of federal citizens converged and proclaimed themselves to be rebels against the "corrupt" government. The federal army engaged them in combat, but the rebels managed to escape on a military ship and flee to an unoccupied system and build their strength. The war had begun.

Major events:

The Great Recruitment: While the rebels began small in number, they broadcasted recruitment propaganda to all federal planets. After only a few months, the rebels had grown in size enough to be considered a foreign military power.   The Bombing of Dagarus: The rebel group coordinated bombing campaigns on Dagarus to distract and disrupt the federal navy. They were laregly successful, and civilian casulties were high.   The Moon Detonation: The largest moon of the planet Vossier was a key military zone for the federation. Violating one of the most severe war crimes, the rebels accelerated an asteroid to 13.6% of the speed of light and threw it at the moon, causing the moon to explode into trillions of fragments and killing 1.3 billion people.   Imperial Aid: After the destruction of Vossier's moon, the Empire recognized that the rebels were a potential threat. They lent several ships filled with troops to the UFH, along with advanced weapons and devices capable of locating nearly anything. This began the end of the war.   Discovery of the Rebel Base: Just three weeks after the Empire lent resources to the UFH, the rebel base was discovered on a dwarf planet on the edge of federal space. The UFH launched a full-scale invasion of the base, leading to the rebels evacuating and fleeing federal space. The UFH followed, keeping pace.

The End:

After the rebels were driven out of federal space, the Empire denied entry into their borders, leaving few places for the rebels to go. With the UFH in pursuit, they jumped to a system on the edge of the galaxy that contains an ancient device known as the Galactic Slingshot. While once thought to be defunct, the rebels managed to reactivate the device and use it. Just before the UFH was able to reach them, the rebels escaped with the device and left the galaxy. Imperial analysis of the device has lead to the conclusion that the rebels travelled to the Arrow Galaxy. Because the arrow galaxy is home to The Scourge, it is assumed that the rebels now all perished.
