Master AI

Introduction:

The Master AIs are five artificial intelligences created during the High Precursor Era. They were created for a variety of purposes, mostly to serve as a "brain" for complex systems. None of them were developed with sentience in mind, although their complexity meant that sentience would eventually develop without intervention. Out of the five, only two are functional today: the Overseer and Conquest.

Appearance and Abilities:

As AIs, the Master AIs were not designed with a physical form and only existed as computer programs. Their main files were hosted on extensive cloud networks which allowed them to transfer their consciousness and influence across any part of the computer systems they existed on. Their importance meant that they were often in charge of incredibly powerful equipment and machinery.
A Master AI's greatest strength is their intelligence. Even equiped with Class S sentience suppressors the processing power of a Master AI averaged around 30-40 quadrillion times that of the average person's brain. Nearly all of this power was designed to be used exclusively for running equipment and developing ideas restricted to their duties. These restrictions mean that a sentient Master AI "only" has about 2 billion times the processing power of the average person's brain that can be used to think.

The 5 Master AIs:

-The Overseer/Machine Emperor: The Emperor was originally created to watch over the Empire during the end of the Second Cataclysm.
-The Swarm Master: The Swarm Master was the AI in charge of managing every swarm keeper in The Universe. Their last recorded task was performed over 400,000 years ago. It is assumed that they are no longer functional.
-Conquest: Conquest is a sentient AI in charge of the Empire's military. They are currently occupied with fighting The Scourge.
-The Architect: The Architect was the AI in charge of the creation of megastructures such as ring worlds. They were deactivated by the Emperor after the Second Cataclysm and safely stored away in an unknown location.
-The Guardian of God: The purpose of this AI is lost to history. It is believed that their purpose was related to one of the old Gods.
