Stigy Sleigh

It is the most wonderful feeling, gliding over the snow covered roads.
— Hisao San, Bumble's owner and stigy driver
In the northern regions of Ghynzua winter covers the land in a thick blanket of snow. Any transportation with wheels becomes unusable so sleighs are used instead. They are pulled by the sturdy Stigyrompus just like a Stigy Bus or cargo wagon.

Land Vehicle

A stigy sleigh is a land vehicle that is pulled by a stigy and slides across the snow on two or more longitudinal runners. They come in various sizes depending on what they transport. Which can be anything from passengers to cargo. For passengers the sleighs are often enclosed and offer a comfortable way to travel. The sleighs are mostly made out of wood with some metal details. There are several designs with the newer models being more streamlined yet minimalistic in design.

Stigy's in the Snow

Thanks to their thick fur stigy's are well equipped to endure the cold. Their long eye lashes keep snow out of their eyes. The only thing that they really require is enough food and fresh water. Therefore the stigy stops of the north receive extra supplies during winter time. More resting time is provided as well to ensure the stigy's remain fit and well. Nothern stigy stops are closer together as well since winter brings shorter days. Therefore there is less daylight to travel in.

Bumble loves snow and he loves his sleigh. Each autumn when the first snowflakes fall he chases them for hours on end and watches as we prepare his sleigh for travel. Those days he can barely contain his excitement. Sometimes he even refuses to pull his cart in the days before we can switch to the sleigh.

History

Sleighs have been used in East Eghea for thousands of years. When people started to domesticate stigy's to use them to pull cargo carts it was but a small step to do the same with sleighs. After the development of the stigy bus open top passenger sleighs where largely replaced by enclosed sleighs with a varying degree of comfort. The most expensive sleighs offer their passengers separate heated cabins and often come with a cook and servants on board.

Ok first off, I neeeeed a pet named bumble. I neeeeeed it. Lol I enjoyed this here article. you detail everything you need to (beautifully I might add) and its so focused. Like nothing in this article has a vibe of "this doesn't NEED to be here" and that's impresive. The quotes are also lovely and well written. Somethings i wonder, if you plan on expanding, is the relationship between stigys and drivers, materials and designs of the sleighs, and training of the stigys.   They're very fine details that are not needed but I'm definitely curious. Do the Riders have a particularly unique relationship with their animals, or have there been certain designs and features of the vehicle that is changed how efficient it is or maybe some common cosmetic elements that are added by the writer, and just how expensive and difficult is the training if difficult at all?   I noticed you discuss the enclosed variant of a vehicle but I'm talking more of the functional design, like certain things that allow for Less air resistance and therefore more speed.

Thank you so much for your comment and like! You bring up some very good points. I got an article idea on my to do list for the stigy driver profession. The bond between driver and stigy is very close. These people really get to know their animal. And the animal is very attached to the people that it has bonded with. I very much like all the suggestions you make here. I certainly will have to think about them and see what might be added here or in another article. Once again. Thank you so much!
