Ageless Ships
The Ageless Ships are artefacts from the Forgotten. They are thousands of years old, yet look brand new. There are five ships in total, each unique in their appearance, spread throughout the world. What is even more extraordinary is the fact they have no sails and do not get rowed. Instead they move thanks to a propeller. What exactly powers this propeller is unknown.
Ageless
People knew of the existence of these strange ships even before The Pulse. No one knew how to operate them though. They were found stranded on beaches in various locations all over the world. Just like with the Ageless Towers these ships were untouched by time. They somehow appear brand new even though they are thousands of years old. And they seem to be undestructable. The first of these ships to once again navigate the seas of Ealdwyll was The Wayfarer. The ship belongs to The Oracle of Sajhdula. Being a part of the crew of this ship is reserved for a select group of sailors. The knowledge of how to operate the ship is seen as a state secret and kept to as few people as possible.
Technology
The knowledge of the technology of these ships has been lost to the ages. A ship without sails or rowers was unheard of before the Wayfarer was brought back into operation. It is known it uses a large propeller at the back of the ship which is put into motion by an unknown force. Whatever drives this propeller makes no noise. Ship builders are not incouraged by the lack of information however. In the last few years efforts to replicate the ageless ships way of motion has been doubled. So far no one has been able to make a ship that can operate in a way similar to that of the ageless ships though.
The ships
There are five ageless ships. The Wayfarer is the most famous of them all because someone in Sajhdula discovered how to operate it. It is to date the only ageless ship back in business.
I love the agelessness of the towers and ships! All this makes so much sense to your world I love it so much! I cannot wait to see the stories you put into this world!
Thank you. It feels good to finally write about these aspects of my world. They have been in my brain (and on various notepads and scrivener docs) for many years now. So it was about time I started tackling these. :)
