Additional Information
Uses, Products & Exploitation
The Útels of northern Malónat and their Alalarían ancestors have long fished for zúal trout, and it's particularly prized by the Valúnites in the marshy, northeastern part of the woods, as it's traditionally the main ingredient for their famed fish stews along with onions and vaþa roots. As with other fish in Útel culture, certain customs and taboos must be kept in mind when catching, preparing and eating zúal trouts, such as only eating it out of sight of the river it was caught in.
The fish is often depicted on paintings and sculptures, and the scales are sometimes used to adorn clothing or or jewelry, believed to grant the wearer good fortune due to their similarity to autumn leaves.
