Krekólic1 is the family which all of the different languages and dialects spoken by Krekkúxes in the Sjorg Desert of southwestern Dragonía belong to, and is among the largest language families spoken by Gobíls in general.
Krekólic languages are a branch of the Kóhic language family, spoken by the Kóhans in the Múlíat Mountains to the east, and gradually evolved as ancestors of the Krekkúxes migrated in waves to the desert over millennia, starting around 7000 b.Dr. After the Óraxes -one of the last Kóhans to settle in Sjorg Desert- conquered most of the region, many krekólic languages went extinct or were heavily influenced by óraxtap spoken by the Óraxes, as use of the former was suppressed by the latter for the most part.
After the Óraxes were overthrown and their empire reduced to a rump state almost 800 years ago, the krekólic languages now thrive in the western, northern and northeastern parts of the desert. Currently, the family consists of three main branches:

- East-Krekkúxic, with hrakkag, paggák and strjámta being the most prominent.
- North-Krekkúxic, which includes ákta, mattúg, hritt and rax.
- West-Krekkúxic, which includes ásjúrk, krorp and rúkkram.
- Isolates, most notably nartasic and prúm.
Writing System
Krekkúxes make use of several different alphabets, some are variations of the one used by the Óraxes, others are based on the ones used in the few countries that managed to resist the Óraxes, and a few were created from scratch some time after the revolts.
The latter are quite diverse as they serve different functions, some resemble hieroglyphs, others are composed of simple lines and dots, and a few make use of elaborate shapes for aesthetic purposes.
Vocabulary
Many krekólic languages are heavily influenced by Órax tongue or, more recently, nartasic, though some Krekkúxes have made some effort to lessen óraxtap vocabulary by replacing such words with those used by other krekólic languages or neologisms. Kóhan influence is also notable in many East-Krekkúxic languages.
