Stellaran Knights

Clad in white and trimmed in gold, the Stellaran Knights cut an imposing figure, making no attempt to disguise themselves. Twelve knights there are at any given time, one for each lunar cycle in a year, no more and no less. A vital piece of their practice of the knighthood is the identification and training of a suitable squire to take up their blade upon their death.   The loyal followers of the Maiden of the Moon are known by several distinguishing characteristics: their iconic armor, their coveted starforged blades, and the fact that they are traditionally all lightborn. Just like their Stellara, lightborn children come into this world with a fragment of Aurora's magic. So it only seemed appropriate for her knights to share that piece of her origins. An interesting point of discussion over a drink at the local tavern is whether the order should begin to include darkborn in their ranks, seeing as they have Umbra's magic in their veins instead of Aurora. Whether this notion has been entertained by the knighthood though is unclear.   Typically Stellarans travel the Imperium with their own personal retinue, including their squire, whatever warriors they have associated themselves with, and whatever other strays they might have picked up in their journeys. Occasionally two or three knights will travel and fight together for brief periods, though this is somewhat rare. It is equally rare for the identities of all twelve knights to be known to any one person, most likely due to their reserved nature and nomadic lifestyle. The knights travel freely across the Imperium, taking up contracts for gold to sustain themselves through their true goal: cleaning the world of undead abominations.   The knights are renowed as some of the best outfitted and trained fighters anywhere. Their iconic look and chivalry was likely the inspiration point for the Knights of Cleansing Flame, though saying the red knights completely copied the white is probably not entirely fair. Still, few marshall orders are held in higher esteem than the Lunar Knights of Stellara
