Stellaran Knight (a.k.a. The Silver Moon)
Who else but the honorable Duke Jonas Frye could have his greatest transgression grow up to be venerable Stellaran Knight. The bastard son of the Duke, Kaan's mother was the daughter of a fisherman in Far Harbor. The two had an affair as teenagers, resulting in Kaan's birth. Notably this was before Jonas was married, which in the eyes of many makes the act of siring a bastard significantly less embarrassing. Also noteworthy is the fact that Kaan is technically the Duke's firstborn son, though being baseborn he does not have any legal claim to his father's inheritance. Still as a boy he was raised on the Frye estate and trained to be a warrior. It is said that he has a good relationship with his half brother and cousin, who supposedly look to him as an older sibling to this day.
Kaan's lightborn nature revealed itself around the same time his father was looking for a suitable long term position for him to assume. The Duke used his connections to connect his son with the previous Knight of the Silver Moon, who eventually took the boy on as his squire. Though not raised as a Stellaran, or even particularly pious in general for that matter, Kaan did have a very strong sense of morality and duty instilled him from childhood. So though despite not necessarily being particularly devout to the moon maiden, he could still see the merits in joining the knighthood and using his talents for the collective good. He also seemingly understood the favorable spin this life path put on his more dubious origins.
So it is that the newest Knight of the Silver Moon came to his station. Now he roams the Imperium with his great, starforged axe, his deeds bringing honor to both his family and order as he goes.
