Electoral fraud and the Shaming Stool Report

Our heroes have a bunch of errands to run this morning in Darknook. Mehmen Ashid manages to brew a new potion and send off a letter to his brother somewhere in the Ashen Hills and, with the help of Thomas, Marble is able to turn his scavenged bear skull into a passable helmet with the use of tools at Burga's Anvil.
Badalona Ailendogs, meanwhile, devotes the day to building a compost heap back at The Griffurd Farm.
With the morning chores done our heores are invited to a meeting by Sir Vejapho Klokis to discuss some new information. At the meeting Abet, Town Archivist Bifford, Captain Torbera Ungart and Sir klokis are joined by the representative of the Barony of Deehill and Maly Lete. They are all there because Amafrey Windriver, Hand of the Order of the Star Leaf wishes to reveal something about the spiders that attacked her riding through the Llangoed Forest - they could cast magic. This provokes a revelation from Maly, she too has seen strange, titanic sized spiders deep in the heart of the forest. Something is very wrong. It is agreed, much to Thomas' disgust, that the Heroes of Darknook will escort Maly and Amafrey back to Starleaf Vale at the end of the election so they can discuss with the Order of the Star Leaf what is happening. Perhaps the druids have more insight.
It also turns out there are developments in the election. It seems Mehmen is running (which is a surprise to Mehmen) and so too is Dorb!
Now our heroes have days to prepare for a trip into the forest and to remove Mehmen from the ballot.
But there is one final tidbit of information. Amafrey recognises the name Ashid from a visitor who came to Starleaf Vale more than a year ago. She didn't speak to this person directly but could it be Andro Ashid?
Thomas and Marble do a little breaking and entering into Bifford's office because it turns out the only way Mehmen can rule himself out of the election is to prove that he was fraudulently entered or admit to scandal and endure The Shaming Stool. Inside they discover the electoral documents and the heroes manage to open the documents and find "Mehmen's" entry papers. Marble copies the handwriting and they show it to Dirk Greywhisker, the town postmaster, who reveals it is likely to belong to Croke Gerrynd.
Now our heroes have 4 days to remove Mehmen from the ballot and prepare for a journey through the dangerous woods.
And there is one final complication: Amafrey reveals to Mehmen that she recalls another druid by the name Ashid in Starleaf Vale a year or so ago. She did not speak to him directly but could this be Mehmen's adopted brother Andro Ashid?

Rewards Granted

Although it has not been identified yet the iron ingot gifted to the Heroes by the Inglenook Family has been discovered to be magic.
Mehmen has also successfully brewed some Angel Tea
