Zharzor

Slight spoilers for Their Moon, third book of the Shadows Saga.
Read with caution.
Zharzor are vicious insectoids with sentience. They stand between three to four feet tall, and even though their short height makes it harder for them to battle, a zharzor is still a formidable opponent. For centuries, these beings were thought lost - extinct, even. But as of 2019 AD, they were discovered in the Forest of Jarisi by Oliver McKinney.   Thanks to Oliver's class being an Entomancer, he could translate what the zharzor were saying through their clicks and chitters, and quickly deduced that they wanted to be alone. Oliver used this to his advantage and expanded his mind to listen for any zharzor in the area.

Anatomy

The zharzor area bipedal species with multiple limbs- two-four arms, two legs, and a possible set of wings. Each zharzor looks different, from coloration to their exoskeleton. When encountering a zharzor, never mention their appearance, especially if they are missing a limb or worse - missing an antenna.

Reproduction

When a female zharzor reaches sexual maturity at the age of three, she starts looking for a male breeding partner, who reaches sexual maturity at seven years old. They seem to court for a while, almost playing with each other before the male manages to inseminate the female. Once the mating process is complete, an egg sac of 30 -100 eggs is laid.
Diet
Zharzor are known for each plant matter, but the hungry a zharzor is, the easier it will be to switch to feeding off of flesh.
