Wolf Canines

Werewolves have a culture where they make tribal mate necklaces, which is a type of necklace devoted to who the werewolf's mate is. About one month after a werewolf finds their mate, they lose one of their canines. Losing this canine is considered a special part of their culture as it is specifically used to create their mate necklace. Each wolf canine is different in shape and size. Some canines are even chipped, due to battles and training.   Once the canine has fallen out, the werewolf must take extreme care of their tooth, knowing that losing it leads to shame, and in most cases, their mate would leave them. Without the canine, a werewolf is considered nothing. Not only does their social status revolve around this tooth being made into the necklace, but a werewolf's inner wolf hates to be embarrassed in front of their Alpha.   In all of the werewolf cultures in Chymous, Alphas demand that when a wolf loses their canine, they are to tell their Alpha about it and that night (as long as it is not on a dark sky), they are to present their canine to their mate and if their mate accepts the canine, it shall be forged into a necklace that shows their bond. Even then, their mate may still denounce them, in which their canine is then taken and burned, signifying that they are unwanted by their mate. In such an event like that, a werewolf usually leaves their pack to find a new one out of shame and embarrassment.
